Abstrak telah dilakukan penelitian tentang inventarisasi jenis burung rangkong (bucerotidae), di hutan krueng tripa, kawasan ekosistem leuser (kel), kabupaten gayo lues dari bulan maret sampai juni 2018 di kecamatan terangun. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati jenis dan populasi burung rangkong di hutan krueng tripa, kawasan ekosistem leuser (kel), kabupaten gayo lues. penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei eksplorasi di dalam enam grid lokasi penelitian dan di luar gird lokasi penelitian, serta hasil dianalisis secara deskriptif. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, burung rangkong jenis anthracoceros malayanus berjumlah 5 individu, buceros bicornis berjumlah 10 individu, buceros rhinoceros berjumlah 8 individu, rhinoplax vigil berjumlah 1 individu, dan rhyticeros undulatus berjumlah 56 individu. jenis pakan burung rangkong terdiri dari buah ficus fustilosa, ficus drupaceae, ficus stupenda, dan vitex pinnata. burung rangkong aktif pada suhu lingkungan sekitar 22-23 0c dan kelembaban udara sekitar 94-95%. abstract research has been conducted on inventory of hornbill species (bucerotidae), in krueng tripa forest, leuser ecosystem area (kel), gayo lues regency from march to june 2018 in terangun district. the aim of this study was to examine the species and populations of hornbills in the krueng tripa forest, leuser ecosystem area, gayo lues regency. this study uses exploratory survey methods in six research grid and outside the research grid, and the results were analyzed by descriptively. the results showed that hornbills there were 5 individuals of anthracoceros malayanus, 10 individuals of buceros bicornis, 8 individuals of buceros rhinoceros, 1 individual of rhinoplax vigil, and 56 of rhyticeros undulatus. the type of feed of hornbills consists fruits of ficus fustilosa, ficus drupaceae, ficus stupenda, and vitex pinnata. hornbills are active at ambient temperatures of 22-23 0c and air humidity around 94-95%.
