Abstrak perancangan kantor bupati aceh barat oleh muammar syah nim: 1304104010023 penerapan simbol budaya pada bangunan pemerintah dapat dikatakan sebagai salah satu langkah pemerintah dalam mempromosikansimbol budaya kepada masyarakat umum. salah satu simbol yang akan diterapkan pada kantor bupati aceh barat adalah kupiah meukeutop. kupiah meukeutop merupakan topi kebesaran teuku umar yang menjadi ikon dari kota meulaboh. logo kepemerintahan kabupaten aceh barat juga terdapat kupiah meukeutop yang bermakna kepemimpinan. hal ini sesuai dengan objek perancang yang didalamnya terkandung jiwa kepemimpinan. selain itu dengan menerapkan kupiah meukeutop pada rancangan kantor bupati diharapkan dapat mempertahankan kupiah meukeutop sebagai ikon dari kota meulaboh. kata kunci: kantor bupati, simbol budaya, kupiah meukeutop iv abstract perancangan kantor bupati aceh barat by muammar syah student id: 1304104010023 culture symbol applied in governmental building is one of the example of government’s action in presenting cultural symbol for its people. one of the symbol that will be applied in mayor’s office in west aceh is kupiah meukeutop. kupiah meukeutop is a hat that teuku umar wore as a symbol of greatness, whoich also became the icon of meulaboh city. the west aceh regency government logo also includes kupiah meukeutop which means leadership. this is in accordance with the object of the design in which contained the soul of leadership. in addition, by applying the meukeutop kupiah to the regent's office design, it is expected from the government to maintain the meukeutop kupiah as an icon from meulaboh city. keywords: regent office, culture symbol, kupiah meukeutop v
