Abstract this research was entitled "the pattern of interpersonal communication between parents and children in improving the children’s learning achievements (a study at gampoeng mata ie, montasik, aceh besar)."the research was aimed at finding out the pattern of interpersonal communication between parents and children in improving the children's learning achievements in gampoeng mata ie, montasik, aceh besar.it was used a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis research type and observation and interview technique. the theory used by researcher was social learning theory. the result of the research shown that in gampoeng mata ie, the pattern of interpersonal communication between the parents and children in improving the children’s learning achievements at gampoeng mata ie, montasik, aceh besar. the pattern of family communication applied to every family in gampoeng mata ie, montasik, that applying system of equation communication pattern, unbalanced communication pattern, separated unbalanced communication pattern, only monopoly communication pattern not applied. interpersonal communication with dace-to-face form can give the direct feedback. keyword: communication pattern, parents and children, learning achievement, mata ie montasik
