Abstract name : ahda student number : 1006102020009 study program : english education title : investigating of slang words meaning and sociolinguistics aspects in “lone survivor” movie keywords: slang, sociolinguistics aspects. this script mainly discusses slang words that spoken by four main characters or actor’s (murphy, marcus, dietz and axe) in the “lone survivor” movie. the purpose of the study is to investigate of slang word and sociolinguistic aspects in the “lone survivor” movie, and to classify or find the literal meaning of slang words used in the “lone survivor” movie. this study uses documentary analysis; it is one of kind of research in qualitative method. the research object in this study is “lone survivor” movie. there are two kinds of data in qualitative research; movie and movie transcript. the results of this study is about there are a few slang words that the main characters in the “lone survivor” movie used to communicate in extremely situation which are fuck, suck, shit, bastard, goddamn, bitch, motherfucker and hell. the writer assumes that this study gives more benefit for other academic field to understand more clearly about slang word with literal meaning and in social context without any misconception.
