Abstrak nama : wardatul jannah fakultas : kedokteran gigi judul : pengaruh ekstrak daun jamblang (syzygium cumini) terhadap penyembuhan ulkus traumatik secara klinis (penelitian pada tikus model) ulkus traumatik merupakan salah satu lesi yang paling sering ditemukan dalam rongga mulut yang terjadi akibat trauma dan dapat menimbulkan rasa nyeri yang dapat mengganggu fungsi pengunyahan. kortikosteroid topikal adalah obat yang sering digunakan untuk mengobati ulkus traumatik, namun obat tersebut memiliki efek samping sehingga dibutuhkan alternatif obat dari bahan herbal. ekstrak daun jamblang dapat berfungsi sebagai ulser protektif yang bermanfaat dalam penyembuhan ulkus traumatik karena mengandung senyawa aktif berupa tanin. tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun jamblang terhadap penyembuhan ulkus traumatik pada mukosa oral secara klinis. penelitian ini diawali dengan pembuatan ulkus pada mukosa bibir bawah tikus dengan burnisher, selanjutnya ekstrak daun jamblang diaplikasikan 2 kali sehari selama 9 hari kemudian diukur luas ulkus dan persentase penyembuhannya. rata-rata hari penyembuhan ulkus pada kelompok akuades adalah 9,3 hari dengan rata-rata luas ulkus hari pertama adalah 14,47 mm dan hari terakhir 1,46 mm, triamcinolone acetonide 0,1% 10 hari dengan rata-rata luas ulkus hari pertama adalah 15,06 mm dan hari terakhir 1,63 mm, dan ekstrak daun jamblang 6 hari dengan rata-rata luas ulkus hari pertama adalah 18,98 mm dan hari terakhir 0 mm. hasil analisis statistik menggunakan oneway anova menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun jamblang berpengaruh secara bermakna terhadap penyembuhan ulkus traumatik dengan p = 0,031 (p ? 0,05). dari hari penelitian ini, disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak daun jamblang dapat mempercepat penyembuhan ulkus traumatik pada mukosa oral secara klinis. kata kunci: burnisher, etanol, mukosa oral, rattus norvegicus, tanin abstract name : wardatul jannah faculty : dentistry title : the effect of syzygium cumini leaves extract on wound healing of traumatic ulcer (study at white wistar rats) traumatic ulcers is one of the most common lession found in oral cavity caused by trauma and may cause pain that can interfere the mastication. topical corticosteroids are a common drugs that used to treat traumatic ulcer, but these drugs have a side effect so the alternative medicine from herbal ingredients is needed. syzygium cumini leaves extract has a protective ulcer effect that useful on wound healing of traumatic ulcer as it contains the active compound in the form of tannins. the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of syzygium cumini leaves extract on wound healing of traumatic ulcer in oral mucosa. this study begans with the manufacture of the ulcer on the lower labial mucosa of rats with burnisher, syzygium cumini leaves extract was applied 2 times a day for 9 days and then the wide of ulcer and percentage is calculated. the average of recovery day for aquades group was 9,3 days with an average area of ulcer the first day is 14.47 mm and the last day is 1.46 mm, triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% was 10 days with an average area of ulcers the first day is 15.06 mm and 1.63 mm in the last days, and syzygium cumini leaves extract was 6 days with an average area of ulcer the first day is 18.98 mm and 0 mm in the last day. results of statistical analysis using oneway anova showed that the leaf extract jamblang significantly affect the traumatic ulcer healing with p = 0.031 (p ? 0.05). based on this study, it was concluded that syzygium cumini leaves extract can accelerate the wound healing of traumatic ulcers in oral mucosa. keywords: burnisher, ethanol, oral mucosa, rattus norvegicus, tannins
