Abstrak latar belakang. penyakit endemis yang berpotensi menyebabkan kejadian luar biasa (klb) dan masih merupakan penyebab utama kematian di indonesia, terutama pada balita. pada anak dengan diare akut, status gizi, dehidrasi, dan kadar besi adalah beberapa faktor yang dapat memengaruhi penyembuhan dan durasi rawatan. tujuan. untuk mengetahui hubungan status gizi, derajat dehidrasi dan status besi terhadap lama rawatan pada anak dengan diare akut di rsud zainoel abidin. metode. studi observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional ini dilakukan pada 50 anak yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian di rsud dr. zainoel abidin banda aceh dari oktober hingga desember 2025. uji statistik spearman digunakan untuk menganalisis data bivariat. hasil. total dari 50 subjek, 62% laki-laki dan 38% perempuan, usia



Abstract

ABSTRACT Background. This endemic disease has the potential to cause an Extraordinary Event (KLB) and remains a leading cause of death in Indonesia, especially among infants. In children with acute diarrhea, nutritional status, dehydration, and iron levels are some of the factors that can influence recovery and the duration of treatment. Objective. To determine the relationship nutritional status, degree of dehydration, and iron status on the length of stay in children with acute diarrhea at Zainoel Abidin Hospital. Methods. This analytical observational study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted on 50 children who met the research criteria at Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital, Banda Aceh from October to December 2025. The Spearman statistical test was used to analyze bivariate data. Results. Of the 50 subjects, 62% were male and 38% were female, 48% were under 2 years old, 40% had a length of stay of 4 days, 58% normal nutritional status, 76% had mild to moderate dehydration, with a mean hemoglobin value of 9.2 ± 13.6, serum iron of 21 ± 69, ferritin of 56 ± 246, and TIBC of 154 ± 563. Bivariate analysis of showed significant association between was hemoglobin (p=0.004), serum iron (p=0.000), and ferritin (p=0.007) but no significant association with nutritional status (p=0.079), degree of dehydration (p=0.796), and TIBC (p=0.050). Conclusion.
