Abstrak penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh ketiadaan bioskop komersial di kota banda aceh yang menyebabkan terbatasnya akses masyarakat, khususnya remaja, terhadap film-film lokal yang mengangkat budaya dan kearifan lokal aceh. di tengah keterbatasan tersebut, aceh film festival (aff) hadir sebagai ruang alternatif bagi masyarakat untuk mengapresiasi karya sineas lokal sekaligus memperkuat identitas budaya aceh melalui medium film. namun, sejauh ini belum terdapat kajian ilmiah yang secara khusus mengukur pengaruh penyelenggaraan aff terhadap minat menonton film lokal di kalangan remaja banda aceh sebagai target penonton utamanya. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh aceh film festival terhadap minat menonton film lokal pada remaja banda aceh. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif eksplanatif dengan teknik survei sebagai metode pengumpulan data. landasan teori yang digunakan adalah teori identitas budaya (cultural identity theory) dari collier dan thomas, yang menjelaskan bahwa identitas budaya terbentuk melalui proses avowal dan ascription. sampel penelitian berjumlah 120 responden yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria remaja berusia 15–24 tahun di kota banda aceh yang pernah menghadiri aceh film festival. data dianalisis menggunakan uji regresi linear sederhana dengan bantuan aplikasi ibm spss statistics 27. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aceh film festival berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat menonton film lokal, dengan nilai t hitung sebesar 9,312 dan signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05). nilai koefisien determinasi (r square) sebesar 0,424 menunjukkan bahwa aceh film festival memberikan kontribusi sebesar 42,4% terhadap variasi minat menonton film lokal, sedangkan 57,6% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar model penelitian. temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penyelenggaraan festival film berbasis komunitas dapat menjadi strategi efektif dalam membangun ekosistem sinema lokal yang berkelanjutan sekaligus memperkuat identitas budaya generasi muda aceh. kata kunci: aceh film festival, minat menonton, film lokal, identitas budaya.

Abstract This study is motivated by the absence of commercial cinemas in Banda Aceh City, which limits public access particularly among youth to local films portraying Acehnese culture and local wisdom. Amid this limitation, the Aceh Film Festival (AFF) emerged as an alternative space for the public to appreciate local filmmakers' works while strengthening Acehnese cultural identity through film. However, no scientific study has specifically measured the influence of AFF on the interest in watching local films among youth in Banda Aceh as its primary target audience. This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of the Aceh Film Festival on the Interest in Watching Local Films among youth in Banda Aceh. This study employs a quantitative explanatory approach with a survey technique as the data collection method. The theoretical framework used is Cultural Identity Theory by Collier and Thomas, which explains that cultural identity is formed through the processes of avowal and ascription. The research sample consisted of 120 respondents determined through purposive sampling, with the criteria of youth aged 15–24 years in Banda Aceh City who had attended the Aceh Film Festival. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics 27. The results show that the Aceh Film Festival has a positive and significant effect on the Interest in Watching Local Films, with a t-value of 9.312 and a significance of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.424 indicates that the Aceh Film Festival contributes 42.4% to the variation in Interest in Watching Local Films, while the remaining 57.6% is influenced by other factors outside the research model. These findings confirm that community-based film festivals can serve as an effective strategy for building a sustainable local cinema ecosystem while strengthening the cultural identity of Aceh's younger generation.
