Abstract indonesia is a large tropical country with one of the highest rainfalls in the world. currently facing a water crisis due to human factors such as land use change and water overuse. the level of water pollution in indonesia is crucial. despite efforts to improve lake water quality, many lakes are affected by various factors, including water pollution, environmental degradation, climate change, and human activity. some of the most common factors affecting lake water quality according to researchers are pollution, oil from transport, chemical from tourism areas (sun cream), sedimentation, and urbanization. this research is conducted in sabang starting from october 2025 and end out in july 2026. data samples collected from pulau weh resort, pulau rubiah, pulau iboih, pulau marina, and pulau gapang. objectifs of this research highlighted identifying locations of diffuse pollution risk and water quality level in sabang. study involves identifying locations of diffuse pollution risk for aquatic habitats, specifically ornamental fish, using water quality parameters and geospatial plannings, to provide integrated spatial data on pollution sources. this research mainly uses two methods derived from primary and secondary data, water quality analysis, maps and visual analysis. pico (problem intervention comparison outcome) to structure research with desired focus on studies from indonesia and sabang and the water quality index (wqi). based on the seawater quality assessment, areas pulau wet resort, pulau rubiah, pulau iboih and pulau gapang classified under low pollution levels but should be maintained through preventive and sustainable environmental management practices. pulau marina classified as having moderate pollution levels among the sampling areas. from the research, possible pollution sources are from urban runoff and industrial discharge. we should maintain a continuous monitoring of seawater parameters such as total dissolved solids (tds) and total suspended solids (tss) are recommended to detect early changes in water quality conditions.
