Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakter morfologi serta menganalisis variasi morfometri spesies dari famili donacidae yang ditemukan di zona intertidal pantai lampanah, aceh besar. pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan metode purposive sampling di tiga stasiun pengamatan. hasil identifikasi karakter kualitatif luar dan dalam cangkang mengonfirmasi bahwa seluruh sampel bivalvia yang ditemukan merupakan spesies latona faba. analisis kuantitatif dari 50 sampel memiliki panjang cangkang rata-rata 28,03 mm dengan kisaran 23,18–33,40 mm. rata-rata bobot cangkang lebih besar dibandingkan bobot daging, di mana rata-rata berat cangkang kering (2,6 gram) jauh lebih besar dibandingkan rata-rata bobot daging kering (0,9 gram). karakteristik pertumbuhan latona faba mengikuti pola allometrik positif dengan nilai eksponen (b) sebesar 3,373, yang berarti pertambahan berat tubuh berlangsung lebih cepat daripada pertambahan panjang cangkang (r² = 0,5805). meskipun secara morfometri hubungan panjang–berat menunjukkan kecenderungan pola pertumbuhan allometrik positif dengan nilai b sebesar 3,373, tingkat kelimpahan populasi di lokasi penelitian tergolong rendah dengan total kepadatan sebesar 0,111 individu/m². berdasarkan indeks morisita, latona faba menunjukkan pola sebaran seragam dengan nilai id sebesar 0,982. suhu dan salinitas yang relatif seragam selama pengamatan serta karakteristik substrat yang didominasi mutlak oleh fraksi pasir (90,6%), yang mempermudah organisme untuk membenamkan diri secara cepat.



Abstract

This study aimed to identify morphological characteristics and analyze morphometric variations of species from the family Donacidae found in the intertidal zone of Lampanah Beach, Aceh Besar. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling at three observation stations. The results of the identification of external and internal shell characteristics confirmed that all bivalve samples found belonged to the species Latona faba. Quantitative analysis of 50 samples revealed an average shell length of 28.03 mm, ranging from 23.18 to 33.40 mm. The average shell weight was greater than the average meat weight; specifically, the average dry shell weight (2.6 grams) was significantly greater than the average dry meat weight (0.9 grams). The growth characteristics of Latona faba follow a positive allometric pattern with an exponent (b) value of 3.373, indicating that body weight increases more rapidly than shell length (R² = 0.5805). Although the length–weight relationship, as determined by morphometric analysis, shows a tendency toward a positive allometric growth pattern with a b-value of 3.373, the population abundance at the study site was relatively low, with a total density of 0.111 individuals/m². Based on the Morisita Index, Latona faba exhibited a uniform distribution pattern with an Id value of 0.982. This was due to relatively uniform temperature and salinity throughout the observation period, as well as substrate characteristics dominated almost entirely by sand (90.6%), which allowed the organisms to burrow quickly.
