Muhammad Yaya, KAJIAN TEORITIS UNJUK KERJA SISTEM PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK MIKRO DENGAN SIKLUS KALINA MEMANFAATKAN ENERGI GEOTHERMAL IE SUUM ACEH BESAR. Banda Aceh Fakultas Teknik,2026

Abstract

Geothermal energy is a renewable energy source with significant potential for application in micro-scale power generation systems. This study aims to analyze the geothermal energy potential of Ie Suum, Aceh Besar, in a Kalina Cycle System (KCS 34)-based power plant, identify the parameters affecting system performance, and evaluate the effect of ammonia–water mixture ratio variations. The analysis was conducted using Aspen HYSYS simulation software with a geothermal source temperature of 87°C and a mass flow rate of 20.409 kg/s. The results indicate a thermal energy potential of 597.16 kW. Variations in the working fluid composition of 70%–30%, 80%–20%, and 90%–10% ammonia–water mixtures show that increasing the ammonia fraction enhances turbine power output from 13.26 kW to 16.03 kW and thermal efficiency from 2.44% to 3.00%, while reducing pump power consumption and heat rejection. The 90% ammonia–10% water mixture provides the best performance and therefore has strong potential for application in a micro-scale geothermal power plant at Ie Suum. Keywords: geothermal energy, Kalina Cycle, Aspen HYSYS, ammonia–water mixture, thermal efficiency
