Provinsi aceh memiliki potensi ekonomi yang besar, dengan banda aceh sebagai pusat pemerintahan dan lhokseumawe sebagai pusat industri di wilayah timur yang membentuk rute perjalanan ekonomi strategis. tingginya interaksi ekonomi dan mobilitas penduduk antara kedua wilayah tersebut, menjadikan pemilihan moda transportasi, baik kendaraan pribadi maupun transportasi umum sebagai persoalan penting bagi masyarakat. kondisi ini menegaskan perlunya penelitian untuk mengidentifikasi faktor yang memengaruhi pemilihan moda transportasi guna mendukung pengembangan sistem transportasi yang berkelanjutan. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik responden, faktor-faktor dalam pemilihan moda transportasi, serta mengetahui probabilitas pemilihan moda antara transportasi pribadi dan transportasi umum untuk perjalanan dari banda aceh menuju lhokseumawe. penelitian ini dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuesioner secara langsung dan melalui google form menggunakan pendekatan revealed preference terhadap 400 responden. variabel dalam penelitian merupakan biaya perjalanan, waktu tempuh, dan jarak perjalanan. metode penelitian ini menggunakan model logit biner selisih dan model logit biner nisbah untuk menganalisis pilihan antara moda transportasi pribadi dan transportasi umum. hasil karakteristik responden didistribusikan dalam bentuk diagram. hasil analisis faktor pemilihan moda transportasi didapatkan faktor kenyamanan menjadi pertimbangan utama dalam menentukan dua pemilihan transportasi, diikuti oleh biaya perjalanan dan waktu tempuh perjalanan. berdasarkan hasil analisis probabilitas pemilihan moda transportasi dari banda aceh menuju lhokseumawe menggunakan model logit biner selisih pada kondisi eksisting, probabilitas orang memilih transportasi pribadi sebesar 75,19%, sedangkan pada model logit biner nisbah probabilitas orang memilih transportasi pribadi adalah sebesar 74,71%. kata kunci : kendaraan pribadi, kendaraan umum, pemilihan moda, logit biner

Aceh Province possesses substantial economic potential, with Banda Aceh serving as the center of government and Lhokseumawe as the industrial hub in the eastern region, together forming a strategically important economic corridor. The high level of economic interaction and population mobility between these two areas has made the choice of transportation mode—whether private vehicles or public transportation—a critical issue for the community. This condition underscores the need for research to identify the factors influencing transportation mode choice in order to support the development of a sustainable transportation system. This study aims to determine the characteristics of respondents, the factors affecting transportation mode choice, and the probability of mode selection between private and public transportation for trips from Banda Aceh to Lhokseumawe. The research was conducted through questionnaires distributed both directly and via Google Forms, employing a revealed preference approach with 400 respondents. The variables examined in this study include travel cost, travel time, and travel distance. The analysis was carried out using the binary logit difference model and the binary logit ratio model to evaluate the choice between private and public transportation modes. The results regarding respondent characteristics are presented in the form of diagrams. The analysis of mode choice factors revealed that comfort was the primary consideration in determining the two transportation choices, followed by travel cost and travel time. Based on the probability analysis of mode choice from Banda Aceh to Lhokseumawe under existing conditions, the binary logit difference model indicated a probability of 75.19% for choosing private transportation, while the binary logit ratio model indicated a probability of 74.71% for choosing private transportation.
