Produksi jagung yang tinggi di kecamatan lembah seulawah, kabupaten aceh besar, menghasilkan limbah pertanian dalam jumlah besar yang berpotensi dimanfaatkan melalui penerapan konsep pertanian sirkular. namun, pengelolaan limbah jagung oleh petani masih belum optimal karena sebagian besar hanya dimanfaatkan secara sederhana atau bahkan dibiarkan dan dibakar, sehingga potensi ekonomi dan manfaat lingkungannya belum dimaksimalkan. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan konsep pertanian sirkular berdasarkan prinsip 5r (reduce, reuse, recycle, recover, dan repair/replace) dalam pengelolaan limbah jagung, mengidentifikasi bentuk-bentuk pemanfaatan limbah jagung yang dilakukan oleh petani, serta menganalisis nilai tambah yang dihasilkan dari pengolahan limbah jagung menjadi produk yang bernilai ekonomi di kecamatan lembah seulawah, kabupaten aceh besar. penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan agustus 2025 di kecamatan lembah seulawah, kabupaten aceh besar, provinsi aceh, dengan lokasi penelitian meliputi desa suka damai, desa lamtamot, dan desa sare aceh yang dipilih secara purposive karena merupakan sentra budidaya jagung di wilayah tersebut. aampel terdiri atas 60 petani yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria aktif membudidayakan jagung, memiliki pengalaman minimal satu musim tanam, serta menghasilkan limbah jagung dari kegiatan usahataninya. data yang digunakan meliputi data primer dan data sekunder. metode analisis terdiri dari analisis deskriptif dan analisis nilai tambah metode hayami. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan konsep pertanian sirkular berbasis prinsip 5r (reduce, reuse, recycle, replace, dan replant) dalam pengelolaan limbah jagung di kecamatan lembah seulawah, kabupaten aceh besar masih tergolong rendah, sehingga pemanfaatan limbah belum dilakukan secara optimal dalam sistem pertanian sirkular. meskipun demikian, limbah jagung telah dimanfaatkan oleh petani menjadi berbagai produk bernilai guna dan bernilai ekonomi, seperti briket, pakan ternak, kompos atau pupuk organik, mulsa organik, media tanam jamur, bahan bakar biomassa, serta kerajinan tangan. hasil analisis nilai tambah menggunakan metode hayami menunjukkan bahwa pengolahan limbah jagung menjadi briket menghasilkan nilai tambah sebesar rp2.500/kg dengan rasio nilai tambah 62,50% yang termasuk kategori tinggi, serta memberikan keuntungan sebesar rp1.000/kg, sehingga berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai produk yang meningkatkan nilai ekonomi limbah jagung



Abstract

High corn production in Lembah Seulawah Sub-district, Aceh Besar Regency, generates a large amount of agricultural waste that has the potential to be utilized through the application of the circular agriculture concept. However, the management of corn waste by farmers is still not optimal because most of the waste is only utilized in a simple manner or is even left unused and burned, resulting in its economic potential and environmental benefits not being maximized. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the circular agriculture concept based on the 5R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, and Repair/Replace) in corn waste management, identify the forms of corn waste utilization practiced by farmers, and analyze the value added generated from processing corn waste into economically valuable products in Lembah Seulawah Sub-district, Aceh Besar Regency. This research was conducted in August 2025 in Lembah Seulawah Sub-district, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province, with the research locations covering Suka Damai Village, Lamtamot Village, and Sare Aceh Village, which were purposively selected because they are centers of corn cultivation in the area. The sample consisted of 60 corn farmers selected using a purposive sampling technique based on the criteria of actively cultivating corn, having at least one planting season of farming experience, and producing corn waste from their farming activities. The data used consisted of primary and secondary data. The analytical methods employed were descriptive analysis and value-added analysis using the Hayami method. The results showed that the implementation of the circular agriculture concept based on the 5R principles (reduce, reuse, recycle, replace, and replant) in corn waste management in Lembah Seulawah Sub-district, Aceh Besar Regency, is still classified as low, indicating that waste utilization has not yet been carried out optimally within a circular agricultural system. Nevertheless, corn waste has been utilized by farmers to produce various products with functional and economic value, such as briquettes, animal feed, compost or organic fertilizer, organic mulch, mushroom growing media, biomass fuel, and handicrafts. The results of the value-added analysis using the Hayami method showed that processing corn waste into briquettes generated a value added of IDR 2,500/kg with a value-added ratio of 62.50%, which falls into the high category, and yielded a profit of IDR 1,000/kg. This indicates that corn waste has the potential to be further developed into products that enhance its economic value
