Peningkatan jumlah kasus penyakit paru, khususnya tuberkulosis (tbc), di provinsi aceh menunjukkan kebutuhan mendesak akan fasilitas kesehatan khusus yang mampu memberikan pelayanan komprehensif dan berstandar tinggi. perancangan rumah sakit paru tipe a di banda aceh ini menggunakan pendekatan therapeutic architecture untuk menciptakan lingkungan binaan yang tidak hanya memenuhi kebutuhan medis, tetapi juga mendukung proses terapi secara holistik. dalam konteks ini, konsep healing environment diposisikan sebagai bagian integral dari terapi, karena lingkungan fisik yang dirancang dengan pencahayaan alami, ventilasi optimal, ruang hijau, serta pengurangan stresor lingkungan terbukti dapat meningkatkan efektivitas terapi medis, memperbaiki respons fisiologis pasien, serta mengurangi tingkat kecemasan dan depresi yang sering menyertai penyakit paru. melalui kajian tapak, analisis kebutuhan ruang, serta studi preseden arsitektur terapeutik, rancangan rumah sakit ini mengakomodasi ruang rawat jalan, rawat inap, laboratorium, radiologi, isolasi, dan rehabilitasi yang sesuai standar permenkes, sekaligus merangsang pemulihan psikologis dan fisik pasien secara bersamaan. dengan integrasi terapi medis dan lingkungan penyembuhan, rumah sakit ini diharapkan menjadi pusat rujukan paru yang modern, efektif, dan berorientasi pada kesejahteraan pasien di provinsi aceh. kata kunci : rumah sakit paru, therapeutic architecture, healing environment, banda aceh.

The increasing number of pulmonary disease cases, particularly Tuberculosis (TB), in Aceh Province highlights the urgent need for specialized healthcare facilities capable of providing comprehensive and high-standard medical services. The design of a Type A Pulmonary Hospital in Banda Aceh adopts a therapeutic architecture approach to create a built environment that not only fulfills medical requirements but also supports the healing process holistically. In this context, the concept of a healing environment is positioned as an integral component of therapy, as a physical environment designed with natural lighting, optimal ventilation, green spaces, and reduced environmental stressors has been shown to enhance the effectiveness of medical treatment, improve patients’ physiological responses, and reduce levels of anxiety and depression commonly associated with pulmonary diseases. Through site analysis, space requirement analysis, and precedent studies of therapeutic architecture, the hospital design accommodates outpatient services, inpatient care, laboratories, radiology, isolation facilities, and rehabilitation areas in accordance with applicable Ministry of Health regulations. At the same time, the design aims to stimulate the psychological and physical recovery of patients. By integrating medical treatment with a healing environment, this hospital is expected to serve as a modern, effective, and patient-centered pulmonary referral center in Aceh Province.
