Ekosistem mangrove merupakan salah satu ekosistem pesisir yang memiliki peran penting dalam menjaga keseimbangan lingkungan, namun pertumbuhan dan distribusi vegetasinya dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor lingkungan, salah satunya tekstur sedimen. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur vegetasi mangrove, mengklasifikasikan tekstur sedimen, serta mengetahui hubungan antara karakteristik tekstur sedimen dengan kerapatan vegetasi mangrove di kecamatan batee, kabupaten pidie. penelitian dilaksanakan pada januari sampai dengan april 2026 menggunakan metode purposive sampling pada tiga stasiun pengamatan. analisis vegetasi dilakukan melalui pengukuran kerapatan, frekuensi, dominasi, dan indeks nilai penting (inp), sedangkan tekstur sedimen dianalisis berdasarkan persentase fraksi kerikil, pasir, lanau, dan lempung. hubungan antara karakteristik tekstur sedimen dan kerapatan mangrove dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi pearson. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat spesies mangrove yang ditemukan, yaitu rhizophora mucronata, rhizophora apiculata, avicennia marina, dan avicennia alba. stasiun 1 didominasi oleh avicennia marina, stasiun 2 oleh avicennia marina dan avicennia alba, sedangkan stasiun 3 didominasi oleh rhizophora apiculata dan rhizophora mucronata. karakteristik sedimen pada lokasi penelitian terdiri atas tipe pasir berlempung di stasiun 1, pasir berlempung di stasiun 2, dan lempung berpasir di stasiun 3. hasil analisis korelasi pearson menunjukkan bahwa fraksi lempung memiliki hubungan positif yang sangat kuat terhadap kerapatan mangrove (r = 0,966), sedangkan fraksi pasir (r = -0,985) dan lanau (r = -0,919) memiliki hubungan negatif yang sangat kuat. fraksi kerikil menunjukkan hubungan negatif sedang (r = -0,500). hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kandungan lempung cenderung diikuti oleh peningkatan kerapatan mangrove, sehingga karakteristik tekstur sedimen berperan penting dalam menentukan distribusi, dominasi, regenerasi, dan kerapatan vegetasi mangrove di kecamatan batee, kabupaten pidie. kata kunci: mangrove, tekstur sedimen, kerapatan mangrove, korelasi pearson, kecamatan batee.

Abstract
The mangrove ecosystem is one of the coastal ecosystems that plays an important role in maintaining environmental balance, yet the growth and distribution of its vegetation are influenced by various environmental factors, one of which is sediment texture. This study aimed to analyze the structure of mangrove vegetation, classify sediment texture, and determine the relationship between sediment texture characteristics and mangrove vegetation density in Batee District, Pidie Regency. The research was conducted from January to April 2026 using a purposive sampling method at three observation stations. Vegetation analysis was carried out by measuring density, frequency, dominance, and the Importance Value Index (IVI), while sediment texture was analyzed based on the percentages of gravel, sand, silt, and mud fractions. The relationship between sediment texture characteristics and mangrove density was analyzed using the pearson correlation test. The results showed that four mangrove species were found, namely Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Avicennia marina, and Avicennia alba. Station 1 was dominated by Avicennia marina, Station 2 by Avicennia marina and Avicennia alba, while Station 3 was dominated by Rhizophora apiculata and Rhizophora mucronata. The sediment characteristics at the study sites consisted of clayey sand at Station 1, clayey sand at Station 2, and sandy clay at Station 3. The Pearson correlation analysis showed that the mud fraction had a very strong positive correlation with mangrove density (r = 0.966), while the sand fraction (r = -0.985) and silt fraction (r = -0.919) had very strong negative correlations. The gravel fraction showed a moderate negative correlation (r = -0.500). The findings indicate that an increase in mud content tends to be followed by an increase in mangrove density, suggesting that sediment texture characteristics play an important role in determining the distribution, dominance, regeneration, and density of mangrove vegetation in Batee District, Pidie Regency.
