INDAH NISRINA, DESAIN FILTER AKTIF DALAM MEREDUKSI HARMONISA PADA BEBAN NON-LINIER RUMAH TANGGA MENGGUNAKAN KONTROL PID. Banda Aceh Fakultas Teknik Elektro,2026

Abstract

The increasing use of electronic devices such as computers, televisions, and energy-efficient lighting which constitute non-linear loads, can cause harmonic distortion in electric power systems. This leads to reduced power quality and potentially damages the electronic equipment itself. To address this issue, this study aims to design and evaluate the performance of a Single-Phase Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) in mitigating harmonics. The methodology involves system modeling and simulation using PLECS software, where the non-linear load is represented by a full-bridge rectifier. The active filter employs PID control to regulate the DC-link voltage and manage the injected compensation current. It is anticipated that by injecting the appropriate compensation current, the active filter will significantly reduce the source current Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) bringing it from the unfiltered state to below 5% in compliance with the IEEE 519 power quality standard—thereby demonstrating its effectiveness as an adaptive solution for harmonic issues associated with modern loads.
