Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of capital structure, operational efficiency, and non-interest income on the profitability of banks listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2020-2024 period. The research population consists of 47 companies with a sample of 37 companies determined using the purposive sampling method. This research uses a quantitative approach with panel data regression analysis using Eviews 12. Research results show that Debt to equity ratio (DER) has a negative but insignificant effect on profitability. The Long-term debt ratio (LTDR) also has a negative but insignificant effect on profitability. Operational efficiency as measured by BOPO has a negative and significant effect on profitability. Fee-based income has a negative and significant effect on profitability. Meanwhile, firm size has a negative and significant effect on profitability. Simultaneously, all independent variables have a significant effect on profitability. These findings indicate that operational efficiency is the dominant factor in determining banking profitability, while capital structure, income diversification, and firm size need to be managed in an integrated manner to sustainably improve the financial performance of banks.
