[skripsi. universitas syiah kuala]. dibawah bimbingan dr. muhibbuddin, m.s., dan nazar muhammad, s.pd., m.pd. rendahnya keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (hots) siswa pada materi sistem ekskresi menjadi salah satu permasalahan dalam pembelajaran biologi. salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah pendekatan deep learning (pembelajaran mendalam). penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pendekatan deep learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (hots) siswa kelas xi sman 1 seunagan pada materi sistem ekskresi. pendekatan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif, dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen. penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. populasi terdiri dari seluruh peserta didik kelas xi sains sman 1 seunagan. sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari kelas xi sains 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas xi sains 2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diambil dengan teknik total sampling dengan jumlah 72 siswa. instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes pilihan ganda berbasis hots yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji t. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai posttest siswa di kelas eksperimen sebesar 87,50, sedangkan di kelas kontrol sebesar 65,97. uji t menunjukkan nilai t hitung sebesar 11,254 dengan nilai signifikansi (sig. 2-tailed) < 0,001 (p < 0,05), yang berarti terdapat pengaruh signifikan penerapan pendekatan deep learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (hots) siswa. dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan deep learning berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (hots) siswa kelas xi sman 1 seunagan pada materi sistem ekskresi. kata kunci: deep learning, keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi, pengaruh, sistem ekskresi, siswa

Under the guidance of Dr. Muhibbuddin, M.S., and Nazar Muhammad, S.Pd., M.Pd. The low level of higher order thinking skills (HOTS) of students in the material of the excretory system is one of the problems in learning biology. One of the learning approaches that can be used to overcome this problem is the Deep Learning approach. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the Deep Learning approach on the higher order thinking skills (HOTS) of grade XI students of SMAN 1 Seunagan on the material of the excretory system. The approach used in this study is quantitative, with the type of experimental research. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population consists of all students of class XI Science of SMAN 1 Seunagan. The sample of this study consisted of class XI Science 1 as an experimental class and class XI Science 2 as a control class taken with a total sampling technique with a total of 72 students. The research instrument used was in the form of a HOTS-based multiple-choice test that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using the t-test. The results showed that the average posttest score of students in the experimental class was 87.50, while in the control class it was 65.97. The t-test showed a calculated t-value of 11.254 with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of < 0.001 (p < 0.05), which means that there is a significant influence of the application of the Deep Learning approach on students' higher order thinking skills (HOTS). Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Deep Learning approach has an effect on the higher order thinking skills (HOTS) of grade XI students of SMAN 1 Seunagan on the excretory system material.
