Abstract
Fatigue and multiple dialysis symptoms are among the most common complaints experienced by patients undergoing hemodialysis. Warm water foot bath (WWFB) and seulanga aromatherapy are non-pharmacological interventions that have been used to alleviate these symptoms; however, evidence directly comparing their effectiveness remains limited. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of WWFB and seulanga aromatherapy in reducing fatigue and dialysis symptoms among patients undergoing hemodialysis. A quasi-experimental study employing a pretest–posttest two-group design was conducted among 70 patients undergoing hemodialysis. Fatigue was assessed using the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy–Fatigue (FACIT-Fatigue), while dialysis symptoms were measured using the Dialysis symptoms Index (DSI). Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test and Mann–Whitney U test. In the WWFB group, the median fatigue score increased from 29 to 37 and the median DSI score decreased from 27 to 23. In the seulanga aromatherapy group, the median fatigue score increased from 29 to 30 and the median DSI score decreased from 28 to 21. Both interventions significantly improved fatigue and reduced dialysis symptoms (p
