(2026). analisis komparatif variasi fonologis bahasa aceh di banda aceh dan aceh barat daya [skripsi sarjana, universitas syiah kuala]. di bawah bimbingan dr. kismullah s.pd., m.app.ling., dan prof. dr. yunisrina qismullah yusuf, s.pd., m.ling. penelitian ini mengkaji variasi fonologis bahasa aceh yang dituturkan di banda aceh dan aceh barat daya. tujuannya adalah untuk mengidentifikasi dan membandingkan realisasi monoftong, diftong, dan vokal nasal yang digunakan oleh penutur asli dari kampung keudah, banda aceh, dan kuta jeumpa, aceh barat daya. metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. data dikumpulkan melalui teknik elisitasi menggunakan daftar kata dan kalimat bahasa aceh. partisipan adalah penutur asli bahasa aceh dari kedua wilayah tersebut. data yang dikumpulkan ditranskripsikan secara fonetik dan dianalisis dengan membandingkan realisasi bunyi ucapan yang dihasilkan oleh informan. temuan menunjukkan bahwa realisasi serupa ditemukan pada monoftong /i/, /ɯ/, /u/, /e/, /o/, /ʌ/, dan /a/; diftong /iə/, /ɯə/, /uə/, /ɛə/, /ʌə/, /ɔə/, /oi/, /ɔi/, dan /ai/; dan vokal nasal /ã/, /ĩ/, /ũ, /ɛ̃/, /ɔ̃/. sebaliknya, variasi fonologis diidentifikasi pada monoftong /ə/, /ɛ/, dan /ɔ/; diftong /əi/, /ui/, dan /ʌi/; dan vokal nasal /ʌ̃/. temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa variasi fonologis antara banda aceh dan aceh barat daya terutama tercermin dalam realisasi monoftong, diftong, dan vokal nasal, dengan variasi yang paling mencolok terjadi pada vokal nasal. kata kunci: bahasa aceh, variasi fonologis, monoftong, diftong, vokal nasal

ABSTRACT Cut Oktavia Rahman D. (2026). A Comparative Analysis of Acehnese Phonological Variation in Banda Aceh and Aceh Barat Daya [Undergraduate Thesis, Universitas Syiah Kuala]. Under the supervision Dr. Kismullah S.Pd., M.App.Ling., and Prof. Dr. Yunisrina Qismullah Yusuf, S.Pd., M.Ling. This study examines the phonological variation of the Acehnese language spoken in Banda Aceh and Aceh Barat Daya. It aims to identify and compare the realization of monophthongs, diphthongs, and nasal vowels used by native speakers from Kampung Keudah, Banda Aceh, and Kuta Jeumpa, Aceh Barat Daya. A qualitative descriptive method was employed in this study. Data were collected through elicitation techniques using lists of Acehnese words and sentences. The participants were native Acehnese speakers from both regions. The collected data were phonetically transcribed and analyzed by comparing the realization of speech sounds produced by the informants. The findings show that similar realizations are found in the monophthongs /i/, /ɯ/, /u/, /e/, /o/, /ʌ/, and /a/; the diphthongs /iə/, /ɯə/, /uə/, /ɛə/, /ʌə/, /ɔə/, /oi/, /ɔi/, and /ai/; and the nasal vowels /ã/, /ĩ/, /ũ, /ɛ̃ /, /ɔ̃ /. In contrast, phonological variation is identified in monophthongs /ə/, /ɛ/, and /ɔ/; the diphthongs /əi/, /ui/, and /ʌi/; and the nasal vowels /ʌ̃ /. These findings demonstrate that the phonological variation between Banda Aceh and Aceh Barat Daya is primarily reflected in the realization of monophthongs, diphthongs, and nasal vowels, with the most noticeable variation occurring in nasal vowels.
