Penelitian ini menganalisis tingkat ketahanan komunitas petani padi sawah tadah hujan dalam menghadapi variabilitas iklim di desa pulo lawang, kecamatan peudada, kabupaten bireuen, aceh. penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya ketergantungan petani terhadap curah hujan sebagai sumber utama pengairan akibat belum tersedianya sistem irigasi teknis yang memadai. kondisi tersebut menyebabkan kegiatan usahatani padi rentan terhadap perubahan pola curah hujan, keterlambatan musim tanam, kekeringan, maupun curah hujan berlebih yang dapat mengganggu produktivitas pertanian dan keberlanjutan penghidupan petani. oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat ketahanan komunitas petani padi sawah tadah hujan berdasarkan pendekatan baseline resilience indicators for communities (bric) serta menyusun strategi peningkatan ketahanan komunitas petani dalam menghadapi variabilitas iklim di desa pulo lawang. penelitian dilaksanakan di desa pulo lawang, kecamatan peudada, kabupaten bireuen, aceh pada bulan februari hingga maret 2026. lokasi penelitian dipilih secara purposive karena merepresentasikan wilayah pertanian padi sawah tadah hujan yang masih sangat bergantung pada curah hujan dan belum didukung oleh sistem irigasi teknis permanen. populasi penelitian terdiri atas 50 rumah tangga petani padi sawah tadah hujan yang masih aktif berusahatani, dan seluruh populasi dijadikan responden melalui metode sensus. data yang digunakan terdiri atas data primer dan data sekunder yang dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan pendekatan baseline resilience indicators for communities (bric) yang mencakup lima dimensi ketahanan, yaitu sosial, ekonomi, kelembagaan, infrastruktur, dan lingkungan. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat ketahanan komunitas petani padi sawah tadah hujan di desa pulo lawang berdasarkan pendekatan baseline resilience indicators for communities (bric) memperoleh nilai indeks total sebesar 0,74 yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. berdasarkan masing-masing dimensi, ketahanan infrastruktur memiliki nilai indeks tertinggi sebesar 0,83 dengan kategori sangat tinggi, diikuti ketahanan lingkungan sebesar 0,81 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. ketahanan sosial memperoleh nilai indeks sebesar 0,80 pada kategori sangat tinggi dan ketahanan ekonomi sebesar 0,75 yang keduanya berada pada kategori tinggi. sementara itu, ketahanan kelembagaan memiliki nilai indeks sebesar 0,53 dan termasuk kategori sedang. hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa komunitas petani padi sawah tadah hujan di desa pulo lawang memiliki kapasitas yang cukup baik dalam menghadapi dan beradaptasi terhadap dampak variabilitas iklim, terutama didukung oleh kondisi infrastruktur, lingkungan, sosial, dan ekonomi yang relatif kuat. namun, aspek kelembagaan masih perlu diperkuat, khususnya terkait peran kelompok tani, penyuluhan pertanian, serta dukungan program pertanian dalam meningkatkan kapasitas adaptasi petani.



Abstract

This study analyzes the resilience level of the rainfed lowland rice farming community in coping with climate variability in Pulo Lawang Village, Peudada District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh. The study is motivated by the high dependence of farmers on rainfall as the primary source of water for agricultural production due to the absence of an adequate technical irrigation system. This condition makes rice farming activities highly vulnerable to changes in rainfall patterns, delays in the planting season, droughts, and excessive rainfall, all of which can disrupt agricultural productivity and the sustainability of farmers' livelihoods. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the resilience level of the rainfed rice farming community using the Baseline Resilience Indicators for Communities (BRIC) approach and to formulate strategies for strengthening community resilience in responding to climate variability in Pulo Lawang Village. The research was conducted in Pulo Lawang Village, Peudada District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh, from February to March 2026. The study area was selected purposively because it represents a rainfed rice farming region that remains highly dependent on rainfall and is not supported by a permanent technical irrigation system. The study population consisted of 50 active rainfed rice farming households, all of whom were included as respondents through a census method. The data used in this study comprised both primary and secondary data, which were analyzed using a descriptive quantitative approach based on the Baseline Resilience Indicators for Communities (BRIC) framework. The framework encompasses five dimensions of resilience: social, economic, institutional, infrastructure, and environmental resilience. The results indicate that the overall resilience level of the rainfed rice farming community in Pulo Lawang Village, as measured by the Baseline Resilience Indicators for Communities (BRIC), achieved a total index score of 0.74, which falls within the high resilience category. Among the five dimensions, infrastructure resilience recorded the highest index score at 0.83, categorized as very high, followed by environmental resilience with an index score of 0.81, also categorized as very high. Social resilience obtained an index score of 0.80, while economic resilience scored 0.75; both dimensions fall within the high resilience category. In contrast, institutional resilience recorded an index score of 0.53 and was classified as moderate. These findings suggest that the rainfed rice farming community in Pulo Lawang Village possesses a relatively strong capacity to cope with and adapt to the impacts of climate variability, particularly due to the support of robust infrastructure, environmental, social, and economic conditions. However, the institutional dimension requires further strengthening, especially regarding the role of farmer groups, agricultural extension services, and agricultural support programs in enhancing farmers’ adaptive capacity
