WILDANUR RAHMAN, ANALISIS KEANDALAN DAN SISTEM PERAWATAN MESIN KOMPRESOR BOIL OFF GAS (BOG) UNIT K-6801 B MENGGUNAKAN METODE RELIABILITY CENTERED MAINTENANCE (RCM) DI PT. PERTA ARUN GAS. Banda Aceh ,

Abstract

The Boil-Off Gas (BOG) Compressor K-6801 B at PT Perta Arun Gas is a critical asset that compresses boil-off gas generated from LNG storage tanks, enabling it to be recovered and reused in the operational process. However, the compressor experienced a total downtime of 12,100 hours during the 2020–2025 period, resulting in decreased equipment reliability and operational availability. Therefore, an effective maintenance strategy is required to improve its performance. This study aims to identify the most critical failure modes, evaluate the reliability level of the compressor, and determine the optimal maintenance interval using the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) approach. The research methodology consists of system identification, Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Logic Tree Analysis (LTA), task selection, reliability analysis, and maintenance interval determination. The FMECA results identified four critical failure modes with the highest risk levels, namely HMI Malfunction and Discrepancy Indication in the Control and Monitoring System, Sight Glass Dirty in the Lubrication System, and Motor Malfunction in the Electric Motor System, all of which significantly affect the operation performance of the BOG Compressor K-6801 B. The reliability analysis yielded a Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of 6.920 hours, a Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) of 4.033,33 hours, and an availability of 63,18%. Based on these results, the recommended preventive maintenance interval is 6.920 operating hours, equivalent to approximately 9 months and 6 days. The implementation of this maintenance schedule is expected to reduce compressor downtime while improving its reliability and operational availability.
