Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan makna konotasi yang terkandung dalam lirik lagu album karya theresia margaretha gultom. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analisis. subjek penelitian ini adalah lirik lagu yang terdapat dalam album rubik dan album berbunga karya theresia margaretha gultom (dere). teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca dan catat. teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas teknik analisis data kualitatif. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makna konotasi dalam lirik lagu album karya theresia margaretha gultom terdiri dari makna konotasi positif yang berhubungan dengan simbol alam, dan hubungan antarmanusia; makna konotasi negatif berhubungan dengan simbol jarak emosional, sikap menutup diri dari orang lain; makna konotasi netral yang berhubungan dengan simbol kehidupan. penggunaan simbol-simbol seperti unsur alam, perjalanan hidup, hubungan antarmanusia, serta kondisi psikologis menjadikan lirik lagu lebih puitis, ekspresif, dan mampu membangkitkan berbagai penafsiran dari pendengar. kata kunci: makna konotasi, lirik lagu, theresia margaretha gultom

The purpose of this study is to describe the connotative meaning contained in the lyrics of the album by Theresia Margaretha Gultom. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis method. The subjects of this study are the song lyrics contained in the album Rubik and the album Berbunga by Theresia Margaretha Gultom (Dere). The data collection technique uses reading and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique in this study consists of qualitative data analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the connotative meaning in the lyrics of the album by Theresia Margaretha Gultom consists of positive connotative meanings related to symbols of nature and interpersonal relationships; negative connotative meanings related to symbols of emotional distance, attitudes of closing oneself off from others; neutral connotative meanings related to symbols of life. The use of symbols such as natural elements, life journeys, interpersonal relationships, and psychological conditions makes the song lyrics more poetic, expressive, and able to evoke various interpretations from the listener.
