(2026). analisis kesulitan siswa dalam mengidentifikasi ide pokok paragraf pada teks eksposisi di kelas v sd negeri neusok teubalui kabupaten aceh besar [skripsi. universitas syiah kuala]. di bawah bimbingan mislinawati, s.pdi., m.pd. dan hasniyati, m.pd. permasalahan dalam penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan siswa dalam mengidentifikasi ide pokok paragraf pada teks eksposisi. serta kesulitan dalam membedakan kalimat utama dan kalimat penjelas, memahami isi bacaan, dan menentukan letak ide pokok dalam paragraf. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan siswa dalam mengidentifikasi ide pokok paragraf pada teks eksposisi di kelas v sd negeri neusok teubalui kabupaten aceh besar serta mengetahui faktor penyebabnya. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. subjek penelitian berjumlah 23 siswa kelas v. teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan tes, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan model miles dan huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam mengidentifikasi ide pokok paragraf termasuk pada kategori baik dengan nilai rata-rata 63. kesulitan terbesar dialami siswa dalam menentukan ide pokok pada paragraf deduktif sebesar 95,65% dan paragraf induktif sebesar 91,30%. selain itu, kesulitan juga terjadi pada paragraf campuran sebesar 65,21% dan dalam membedakan kalimat utama dengan kalimat penjelas sebesar 43,50%. faktor penyebab kesulitan siswa meliputi faktor linguistik berupa keterbatasan kosakata dan pengaruh bahasa daerah, faktor kognitif terkait rendahnya kemampuan memahami hubungan antar kalimat, faktor metakognitif berupa kurangnya strategi membaca, serta faktor afektif seperti rendahnya minat membaca. simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam mengidentifikasi ide pokok paragraf tergolong baik. kesulitan siswa terjadi pada seluruh indikator, terutama dalam memahami isi bacaan dan menentukan ide pokok, yang dipengaruhi oleh keterbatasan kosakata, pengaruh bahasa daerah, rendahnya kemampuan memahami hubungan antar kalimat, serta kurangnya strategi dan minat membaca. kata kunci: kesulitan belajar, ide pokok, teks eksposisi

Analysis of Students’ Difficulties in Identifying the Main Idea of Paragraphs in Expository Texts in Grade V at SD Negeri Neusok Teubalui, Aceh Besar Regency [Skripsi. Universitas Syiah Kuala]. Under direction of Mislinawati, S.Pdi., M.Pd. dan Hasniyati, M.Pd. The problem addressed in this study was motivated by students' difficulties in identifying the main idea of paragraphs in expository texts.In addition, students experience difficulties in distinguishing between main sentences and supporting sentences, understanding the content of the text, and determining the location of the main idea within a paragraph. This study aims to analyze students’ difficulties in identifying the main idea of paragraphs in expository texts in grade V of SD Negeri Neusok Teubalui, Aceh Besar, and to determine the factors causing these difficulties. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The subjects of this study were 23 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and tests, while data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students’ ability to identify the main idea of paragraphs was still at a moderate level, with an average score of 63. The highest level of difficulty was found in identifying the main idea in deductive paragraphs (95.65%) and inductive paragraphs (91.30%). In addition, students also experienced difficulties in mixed paragraphs (65.21%) and in distinguishing between main sentences and supporting sentences (43.50%). The factors causing these difficulties include linguistic factors such as limited vocabulary and the influence of local language, cognitive factors related to low ability in understanding relationships between sentences, metacognitive factors such as lack of effective reading strategies, and affective factors such as low reading interest This study concludes that students' ability to identify the main idea of paragraphs is at a good level. Students experienced difficulties across all indicators, particularly in comprehending the text and determining the main idea, which are influenced by limited vocabulary, the influence of the local language, low ability to understand relationships between sentences, and a lack of effective reading strategies and reading interest.
