Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu keterampilan penting yang perlu dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran bahasa indonesia di sekolah dasar. namun, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa masih tergolong rendah, khususnya dalam memahami, menganalisis, dan menyimpulkan isi bacaan cerita fiksi. siswa juga cenderung kurang aktif dalam kegiatan diskusi pembelajaran. oleh karena itu, diperlukan model pembelajaran yang dapat melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam membaca, berdiskusi, dan mengemukakan pendapat. salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan adalah literature circle. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model literature circle dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada pembelajaran bahasa indonesia materi cerita fiksi di kelas v sd negeri 4 banda aceh. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif dan subjek penelitian sebanyak 20 siswa. teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan tes. observasi digunakan untuk mengamati aktivitas siswa dan kemampuan berpikir kritis selama proses pembelajaran, sedangkan tes digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa setelah pembelajaran berlangsung. teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan menghitung nilai rata-rata dan persentase kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran menggunakan model literature circle berada pada kategori sangat baik dengan nilai rata-rata 4,00. kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa berdasarkan hasil observasi berada pada kategori baik dengan nilai rata-rata 3,33. selain itu, hasil tes menunjukkan nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 86,75 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model literature circle dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada pembelajaran bahasa indonesia. kata kunci: literature circle, kemampuan berpikir kritis, pembelajaran bahasa indonesia.



Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the important skills that need to be developed in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level. However, students’ critical thinking skills are still relatively low, especially in understanding, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from fictional texts. Students also tend to be less active during classroom discussions. Therefore, a learning model that actively involves students in reading, discussing, and expressing opinions is needed. One of the learning models that can be applied is the Literature Circle model. This study aims to describe the application of the Literature Circle model in developing students’ critical thinking skills in Indonesian language learning on fictional story material in fifth grade at SD Negeri 4 Banda Aceh. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design involving 20 students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation and tests. Observation was used to observe student activities and critical thinking skills during the learning process, while the test was used to measure students’ critical thinking skills after the learning activities. The data were analyzed descriptively by calculating the average scores and percentages of students’ critical thinking skills. The results showed that student activities during learning using the Literature Circle model were in the very good category with an average score of 4.00. Students’ critical thinking skills based on observation results were in the good category with an average score of 3.33. In addition, the test results show an average score of 86.75, which is categorized as very high. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of the Literature Circle model can develop students’ critical thinking skills in Indonesian language learning.
