Berbicara adalah keterampilan penting dalam menguasai bahasa inggris. studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap program english club, yang memberikan kesempatan bagi siswa efl untuk berlatih berbicara. studi ini dilakukan melalui studi kualitatif deskriptif dengan 25 anggota english club di smas labschool universitas syiah kuala (usk). kuesioner dan wawancara digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa berpendapat bahwa program english club memiliki dampak positif pada kemampuan berbicara mereka, seperti meningkatkan pengucapan dan kelancaran, memperluas kosakata, meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dalam menyampaikan pendapat, dan memotivasi mereka untuk lebih sering berbicara bahasa inggris. selain itu, mereka juga menyatakan pandangan positif bahwa english club memotivasi mereka untuk lebih sering berbicara bahasa inggris bahkan di luar kelas. namun, beberapa siswa masih merasa malu ketika berbicara di depan teman-teman mereka.

Abstract
Speaking is a crucial skill in mastering English. This study aims to find out students’ perceptions toward the English Club program, which provides opportunities for EFL students to practicing speaking. It was conducted through a descriptive qualitative study with 25 English Club members at SMAS Labschool Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK). Questionnaires and interviews were used to collect data. The results showed that most students perceive that the English Club program had a positive impact on their speaking abilities such as improving pronunciation and fluency, expanding vocabulary, increasing confidence in expressing opinions, and motivated to speak English more often. Furthermore, they also expressed a positive view that English Club motivated them to speak English more often even outside of class. However, some students still felt shy when speaking in front of their peers.
