Abstract
State Civil Apparatus (ASN) teachers at the Senior High School (SMA) level have responsibilities not only in teaching but also in preparing students for final examinations, university entrance selection, and various administrative duties and school activities. The high work demands and pressure from schools and parents make teachers’ workloads increasingly complex, which can potentially cause emotional exhaustion and reduce teachers’ work engagement. This condition can lead to the emergence of quiet quitting behavior, which refers to the tendency of individuals to limit themselves to core job responsibilities without emotional involvement or additional initiative in their work. Job satisfaction is considered one of the factors that influence the emergence of quiet quitting behavior. This study aims to determine the relationship between job satisfaction and quiet quitting among ASN senior high school teachers in Banda Aceh. The subjects of this study involved 218 ASN senior high school teachers in Banda Aceh. This research used a quantitative method with a non-probability sampling technique through convenience sampling, and data were collected using the Quiet Quitting Scale and the Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS). The results showed a significant negative relationship between job satisfaction and quiet quitting with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 and a correlation coefficient of r = -0.549. This means that there is a relationship between job satisfaction and quiet quitting among ASN senior high school teachers in Banda Aceh. The higher the teachers’ job satisfaction, the lower the tendency of quiet quitting, and conversely, the lower the job satisfaction, the higher the tendency of quiet quitting among ASN senior high school teachers in Banda Aceh. In addition, this study found that quiet quitting was in the low category, While job satisfaction was in the high category.
