Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran yayasan darah untuk aceh (ydua) dalam mendukung penyintas thalasemia di aceh serta mengidentifikasi hambatan yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaan peran tersebut. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode purposive sampling. teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. informan dalam penelitian ini berupa informan yang dianggap memahami mengenai permasalahan ini secara mendalam. penelitian ini menggunakan teori peran (role theory) untuk menganalisis bagaimana peran lembaga swadya masyarakat yayasan darah untuk aceh dalam mendukung para penyintas thalassemia. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ydua menjalankan peran yang tidak hanya terbatas pada pemenuhan kebutuhan medis, seperti penyediaan donor darah, tetapi juga mencakup dukungan sosial melalui penyediaan rumah singgah, kegiatan edukasi, serta sosialisasi kepada masyarakat. peran tersebut dijalankan melalui berbagai program yang saling berkaitan dan melibatkan partisipasi masyarakat dalam berbagai bentuk, baik berupa donor darah, bantuan material, maupun dukungan sosial. selain itu, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pelaksanaan peran telah berkembang menjadi suatu sistem yang berjalan yang tidak terpaku pada pendampingan yang intensif, di mana penyintas dan pihak terkait telah memahami alur layanan tanpa ketergantungan penuh pada arahan langsung dari yayasan. pelaksanaan peran tersebut tidak terlepas dari berbagai hambatan, seperti rendahnya tingkat pemahaman masyarakat terkait thalasemia, keterbatasan partisipasi dalam beberapa aspek, serta kendala akses terhadap layanan kesehatan. keterbatasan kapasitas yayasan juga menjadi faktor yang mempengaruhi optimalisasi peran yang dijalankan. kata kunci: peran, lsm, thalasemia, ydua

This study aims to analyze the role of the Blood for Aceh Foundation (YDUA) in supporting thalassemia survivors in Aceh and identify the obstacles faced in the implementation of this role. This study uses a qualitative approach with a purposive sampling method. Data collection techniques are carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The informants in this study are informants who are considered to understand this problem in depth. This study uses role theory to analyze the role of the non-governmental organization Blood Foundation for Aceh in supporting thalassemia survivors. The results of the study show that YDUA carries out a role that is not only limited to meeting medical needs, such as the provision of blood donations, but also includes social support through the provision of halfway houses, educational activities, and socialization to the community. This role is carried out through various interrelated programs and involves community participation in various forms, both in the form of blood donations, material assistance, and social support. In addition, this study found that the implementation of the role has evolved into a running system that is not fixated on intensive mentoring, where survivors and related parties have understood the flow of services without full dependence on direct direction from the foundation. The implementation of this role is inseparable from various obstacles, such as the low level of public understanding related to thalassaemia, limited participation in several aspects, and obstacles to access to health services. The limited capacity of the foundation is also a factor that affects the optimization of the role carried out. Keywords: Role, NGOs, Thalassemia, YDUA
