Strok merupakan kondisi yang dapat menyebabkan gangguan fisik dan kognitif sehingga mempengaruhi kemampuan pasien dalam memahami informasi selama proses perawatan. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana komunikasi antara dokter dan pasien strok berlangsung. penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik observasi dan wawancara. wawancara dilakukan terhadap pasien strok dan dokter yang terlibat dalam proses perawatan, sedangkan observasi dilakukan pada saat interaksi komunikasi antara dokter dan pasien di ruang pemeriksaan. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dokter berupaya menyesuaikan komunikasi dengan menggunakan bahasa sederhana serta isyarat nonverbal. interaksi antara dokter dan pasien yang terjadi cenderung berlangsung singkat dan lebih berfokus pada tindakan medis. komunikasi juga masih didominasi oleh dokter sehingga keterlibatan pasien dalam proses komunikasi menjadi terbatas. pasien merasa cukup nyaman selama proses komunikasi berlangsung, tetapi belum sepenuhnya memahami informasi terkait pengobatan dan tindak lanjut. hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi antara dokter dan pasien strok perlu ditingkatkan agar lebih interaktif dan berpusat pada pasien. hal ini penting untuk membantu pasien memahami kondisi yang dialami serta mendukung keterlibatan pasien dalam proses perawatan. kata kunci: strok, komunikasi dokter-pasien, komunikasi kesehatan, dan tingkat pemahaman pasien

Stroke is a condition that can cause physical and cognitive impairment, affecting a patient's ability to understand information during the treatment process. This study aims to determine how communication between doctors and stroke patients occurs. This study used qualitative methods with observation and interview techniques. Interviews were conducted with stroke patients and doctors involved in the treatment process, while observations were made during communication interactions between doctors and patients in the examination room. The results showed that doctors attempted to adapt their communication by using simple language and nonverbal cues. The interactions between doctors and patients tended to be brief and focused more on medical procedures. Communication was also still dominated by doctors, limiting patient involvement in the communication process. Patients felt quite comfortable during the communication process, but did not fully understand information related to treatment and follow-up. The results of this study indicate that communication between doctors and stroke patients needs to be improved to be more interactive and patient centered. This is important to help patients understand their condition and support patient involvement in the treatment process.
