Effect of fertilization and weeding on growth and production of rice (oryza sativa l.) in the land rainfed upland method ansyari ibrahim, jumini1, erida nurahmi2 1 student of the faculty of agriculture syiah kuala university – banda aceh 2 teaching staff of departement of agroteknologi syiah kuala the study aims to determine the effect of compost fertilizer plus rice husk and frequency of weeding, and intraksi on the growth and production of rice in the rainfed upland method. research using randomized block design 3 x 3 factorial design with four replications with 36 repeat units consisting of compost dose factors consisting of three levels ie without compost, compost and compost 2,5 5 ton ha-1 + husk 1 ton judge 1 and frequency of weeding consists of three levels namely frequency 7, 10 and 15 days. variables measured were plant height, number of tillers / hill, the number of productive tillers and weight of 1000 grains. the results showed that the treatment dose of compost very significant effect on plant height age of 30 hst, number of tillers ages of 30 and 60 days after planting, weight of 1000 grains and significant effect on the number of seedlings at 15 days after planting, the number of productive tiller and the effect is not noticeable to the height of plant age 15, 45 and 60 days after planting and the number of tillers age of 45 hst. frequency weeding very significant effect on plant height at 15 days after planting, the number of tillers aged 15, 30 and 60 hst and the weight of 1,000 grains of rice, as well as significantly affected plant height, age 30, hst and the number of tillers age 45 hst, but did not significantly affect high plant ages 45 and 60 hst, as well as the number of productive tillers. there was no significant interaction between treatment dose of compost with weeding frequency on all the variables of growth and yield of rice plants were observed. keywords : rice, compost fertilizer, frequency of weeding.
