Burung sriti (collocalia linchi) merupakan famili apodidae dan tersebar luas di kawasan asia tenggara. burung sriti juga berpotensi menjadi inang ektoparasit mallophaga yang dapat memengaruhi kesehatannya. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prevalensi dan karakterisasi ektoparasit mallophaga pada burung sriti (collocalia linchi) di kecamatan kluet tengah, kabupaten aceh selatan. sebanyak 10 ekor burung sriti diperiksa menggunakan metode penyikatan tubuh untuk mengoleksi ektoparasit. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 7 ekor burung sriti (70%) terinfeksi ektoparasit mallophaga. total kutu yang ditemukan sebanyak 15 ekor yang terdiri dari dua genus, yaitu menacanthus sp. terdapat sembilan kutu dan goniocotes sp. terdapat enam kutu. hasil ini menunjukkan adanya infestasi ektoparasit mallophaga pada burung sriti di lokasi penelitian.

The swiftlet (Collocalia linchi) belongs to the family Apodidae and is widely distributed in Southeast Asia. The swiftlet may act as a host for Mallophaga ectoparasites, which can affect its health. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and characterization of Mallophaga ectoparasites in the swiftlet (Collocalia linchi) in Kluet Tengah District, South Aceh Regency. A total of 10 swiftlets were examined using the body brushing method to collect ectoparasites. The results showed that 7 swiftlets (70%) were infected with Mallophaga ectoparasites. A total of 15 lice were identified, consisting of two genera: Menacanthus sp. with nine lice and Goniocotes sp. with six lice. These results indicate the presence of Mallophaga ectoparasite infestation in swiftlets at the study site.
