Abstract
This study focuses on the limited number of school supervisors in Aceh Jaya Regency, with only two supervisors serving all senior high schools (SMA), vocational high schools (SMK), and special schools (SLB), as well as the low level of students’ non-academic achievement. Extracurricular activities in schools have not yet produced optimal outcomes, despite many students demonstrating strong academic potential. This condition is primarily attributed to inadequate facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, school supervisors play a crucial role in supporting principals and teachers in improving students’ non-academic achievements. This study aims to examine the programs, implementation, and follow-up actions of school supervisors in facilitating improvements in students’ non-academic achievement. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving three school principals, three extracurricular activity advisors, and two school supervisors as research participants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis, and were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that supervisory programs at SMAN (State Senior High School) 1 Setia Bakti and SMAN 1 Krueng Sabee have not yet been implemented optimally. In contrast, the program at SMAN 1 Indra Jaya has been implemented more effectively. Similarly, the implementation and follow-up of supervisory activities in the first two schools remain limited. The study concludes that continuous improvement and systematic evaluation of the supervisory role are essential, particularly to strengthen extracurricular facilities and infrastructure and enhance students’ non-academic achievement.
