[skripsi. universitar syiah kuala]. di bawah bimbingan yuli astuti, s,pd., m.pd dan nurlaili, s,pd., m.pd. penelitian ini berjudul “persepsi masyarakat terhadap pertunjukan tari ratoh jaroe di man inovasi aceh barat daya”. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk pertunjukan tari ratoh jaroe pada masa lampau dan bentuk yang telah mengalami kreasi, serta untuk memahami persepsi masyarakat terhadap perubahan gerak dan bentuk pertunjukan tari tersebut. penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap masyarakat sekitar serta pihak yang terlibat dalam kegiatan pertunjukan tari ratoh jaroe di man inovasi aceh barat daya. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap upaya pengembangan dan inovasi pada tari ratoh jaroe. masyarakat menilai bahwa kreasi baru tersebut mampu menarik minat generasi muda dan memperluas apresiasi terhadap seni tari aceh. namun demikian, sebagian masyarakat berpendapat bahwa hasil inovasi tersebut tidak sepenuhnya dapat disebut sebagai tari ratoh jaroe asli, melainkan lebih tepat disebut sebagai tari kreasi ratoh jaroe. kata kunci: persepsi, masyarakat, ratoh jaroe, pertunjukan

ABSTRAK Ayi Miraddah. (2025). Public Perception of the Ratoh Jaroe Dance Performance at MAN Inovasi Aceh Barat Daya. [Undergraduate Thesis, Universitas Syiah Kuala]. Under the supervision of Yuli Astutii, S.Pd., M.Pd. and Dr. Ahmad Sya’I, S.Pd., M.Sn. This study is entitled “Public Perception of the Ratoh Jaroe Dance Performance at MAN Inovasi Aceh Barat Daya.” The purpose of this research is to identify the form of the Ratoh Jaroe dance performance in the past and its recreated version, as well as to understand the community’s perception of the changes in movements and performance style. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving local community members and individuals engaged in the Ratoh Jaroe dance performances at MAN Inovasi Aceh Barat Daya. The results show that the community has a positive perception toward the creativity and innovation applied to the Ratoh Jaroe dance. They appreciate that the modernized version attracts younger audiences and promotes Acehnese dance culture. However, some members of the community believe that the newly created version should not be referred to as the original Ratoh Jaroe Dance, but rather as a Creative Ratoh Jaroe Dance.
