[skripsi. universitas syiah kuala]. dibawah bimbingan dr. wiwit artika, s.si., m.ed, dan dr. muhibbuddin, m.s. model project based learning (pjbl) berperan penting dalam mendorong pembelajaran aktif, pengembangan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi, serta penguatan kesadaran metakognitif siswa. melalui pjbl, siswa dilatih untuk merencanakan, memantau, dan mengevaluasi proses belajarnya sehingga berpotensi meningkatkan hasil belajar. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran project based learning (pjbl) terhadap kesadaran metakognitif peserta didik dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran project based learning (pjbl) terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen dan desain pretest-posttest control group. populasi penelitian berjumlah 287 peserta didik, dengan sampel sebanyak 72 peserta didik yang terbagi dalam dua kelas. parameter pada penelitian ini adalah kesadaran metakognitif dan hasil belajar biologi peserta didik pada materi virus. instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner metacognitive awareness inventory (mai) dan tes objektif. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran project based learning (pjbl) berpengaruh terhadap kesadaran metakognitif peserta didik dan penerapan model pembelajaran project based learning (pjbl) juga berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas x pada materi virus. kata kunci: eksperimental, hasil belajar, kesadaran metakognitif, materi virus, project based learning

Universitas Syiah Kuala]. Under the guidance of Dr. Wiwit Artika, S.Si., M.Ed, and Dr. Muhibbuddin, M.S. The Project Based Learning (PjBL) model plays an important role in promoting active learning, developing higher order thinking skills, and strengthening student’s metacognitive awareness. Through PjBL, students are trained to plan, monitor, and evaluate their learning processes, thereby potentially improving learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on student’s metacognitive awareness and to examine its effect on student’s learning outcomes. This research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental research type and a pretest posttest control group design. The research population consisted of 287 students, with a sample of 72 students divided into two classes. The parameters of this study were student’s metacognitive awareness and biology learning outcomes on the topic of Viruses. The research instruments included the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) questionnaire and an objective test. The results indicate that the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model has an effect on student's metacognitive awareness and also has an effect on the learning outcomes of Grade X students on the topic of Viruses.
