[skripsi. universitas syiah kuala]. dibawah bimbingan dra. yuhasriati, m.pd. dan dr. khairul umam, s.si., m.a.edsc. pembelajaran matematika khususnya materi lingkaran masih kurang efektif. hal ini ditunjukkan karena kurangnya hasil siswa, siswa tidak termotivasi dan mengalami kesulitan dalam mengaitkan konsep matematika materi lingkaran dengan kehidupan sehari-hari sehingga pembelajaran tidak mencapai ketuntasan. salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut ialah melaksanakan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model discovery learning. discovery learning merupakan model pembelajaran yang memberikan kesempatan untuk siswa lebih aktif. tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model discovery learning pada materi lingkaran kelas viii di smp negeri 10 banda aceh. jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan menerapkan pre-experimental design bentuk one-shot case study. sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas viii-a smp negeri 10 banda aceh dengan banyak 29 siswa. pengumpulan data ada 3 yaitu observasi, tes dan angket. observasi untuk mengetahui kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran dan aktivitas siswa untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa selama pembelajaran, tes untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa dan angket untuk mengetahui respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran. analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa model pembelajaran discovery learning efektif pada materi lingkaran kelas viii di smp negeri 10 banda aceh. hal ini ditandai dengan (1) kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran dengan nilai rata-rata 3,79 yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik; (2) aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran berlangsung mencapai 97,42% dalam kategori sangat baik; (3) ketuntasan belajar siswa tuntas secara klasikal mencapai sebesar 89% sangat baik; dan (4) angket respons siswa mencapai persentase 85,11% dalam kategori sangat baik. kata kunci: efektivitas, lingkaran, model discovery learning

Yuhasriati, M.Pd. dan Dr. Khairul Umam, S.Si., M.A.EdSc. Mathematics learning, especially the topic of circles, is still ineffective. This is indicated by the lack of student results, students are not motivated and have difficulty in connecting the mathematical concept of circle material with everyday life so that learning does not reach completion. One effort to overcome this problem is to implement learning by implementing the discovery learning model. Discovery Learning is a learning model that provides opportunities for students to be more active. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the application of the discovery learning model on circle material for class VIII at SMP Negeri 10 Banda Aceh. This type of research is quantitative descriptive, by applying a pre-experimental design in the form of a one-shot case study. The sample in this study was class VIII-A students of SMP Negeri 10 Banda Aceh with a total of 29 students. There were 3 data collection methods, namely observation, tests and questionnaires. Observations to determine the teacher's ability to manage learning and student activities to determine student abilities during learning, tests to determine student learning outcomes and questionnaires to determine student responses to learning. Data analysis used was descriptive analysis. The results of the study showed that the discovery learning model is effective in circle material for class VIII at SMP Negeri 10 Banda Aceh. This is indicated by (1) the teacher's ability to manage learning with an average value of 3.79 which is included in the very good category; (2) student activity during learning reached 97.42% in the very good category; (3) student learning completion as a class reached 89% which is very good; and (4) student response questionnaires reached a percentage of 85.11% in the very good category.
