Pet attachment merupakan suatu ikatan emosional antara pemilik dan hewan peliharaan. kelekatan ini dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, salah satunya adalah usia pemilik hewan peliharaan. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pet attachment pada pemilik hewan peliharaan ditinjau berdasarkan usia. studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode komparatif. pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik accidental sampling dengan melibatkan 96 pemilik kucing yang terdiri dari 48 remaja dan 48 dewasa awal yang berdomisili di kota banda aceh. data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen lexington attachment to pets scale (laps), dan dianalisis menggunakan uji independent sample t-test. hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan pet attachment berdasarkan usia (p = 0.002; p < 0,05). individu dewasa awal memiliki tingkat pet attachment yang lebih kuat dibandingkan remaja.

Pet attachment is an emotional bond between owners and pets. This attachment is influenced by various factors, one of which is the age of the pet owner. This study aims to determine the differences in pet attachment among pet owners based on age. This study uses a quantitative approach with a comparative method. Sampling was conducted using accidental sampling techniques, involving 96 cat owners consisting of 48 adolescents and 48 young adults residing in Banda Aceh City. Data were collected using the Lexington Attachment to Pets Scale (LAPS) instrument and analyzed using the Independent Sample T-test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant difference in pet attachment based on age (p = 0.002; p < 0.05). Young adults had a stronger level of pet attachment than adolescents.
