Abstract
Background: The utilization of Intrauterine Device (IUD) in Indonesia remains low (3.9%) compared to other contraceptive methods, despite its high effectiveness (99.4%) and its designation as a national Family Planning program priority. The coverage of IUD use also falls far below the national target of 28.39%. In urban areas of Banda Aceh, the prevalence of IUD users is only 7.71%, indicating the presence of psychosocial barriers that influence contraceptive behavior among women of reproductive age. Objective: To analyze psychosocial factors influencing IUD use behavior based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), including attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, actual behavioral control, and intention. Methods: This quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design involving 442 women of reproductive age from six urban public health centers. Sampling was conducted using a cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire developed from the TPB constructs, which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using Spearman correlation, linear regression, and binary logistic regression at a significance level of p
