Kanker merupakan salah satu penyakit yang menyebabkan tingginya angka kematian. kondisi ini berdampak pada seluruh aspek kehidupan baik secara fisik, psikologis, sosial dan spiritual sehingga menimbulkan krisis spiritual yang ditandai dengan adanya stres, cemas dan putus asa. upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi krisis spiritual yang dialami pasien adalah dengan pemenuhan spiritualitas pasien. tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kebutuhan spiritualitas pada pasien kanker di pusat onkologi rumah sakit umum daerah dr.zainoel abidin banda aceh. penelitian ini menggunakan jenis kuantitatif deskriptifdengan pendekatan cross sectional. teknik pengambilan sampel penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan sampel sebanyak 157 pasien. alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah spiritual needs questionnaire (spnq) yang terdiri dari 19 pertanyaan yang dimodifikasi oleh lenni sastra. hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa pasien membutuhkan kebutuhan spiritual dari yang sangat dibutuhkan yaitu kebutuhan religius (100%) terutama “mengerjakan shalat lima waktu”, kebutuhan kedamaian batin (98,7%), kebutuhan memberi (93,6%) dan kebutuhan eksistensi diri (87,3%). penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pasien kanker di pusat onkologi rsud dr. zainoel abidin banda aceh sangat membutuhkan kebutuhan spiritual. diharapkan pemberi layanan kesehatan dapat membantu pasien dalam memenuhi kebutuhan spiritual pasien selama rawat inap, sehingga membantu pasien menjalani proses pengobatan dengan tenang.

Cancer is one of the diseases that causes high mortality rates. This condition impacts all aspects of life, both physically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually, causing a spiritual crisis characterized by stress, anxiety, and despair. Some efforts that can be be undertaken to mitigate the spiritual crisis faced by patients involve addressing and supporting the patient’s spiritual needs. In this study, it aimed to determine the spiritual needs of cancer patients at the Oncology Center of the Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital, Banda Aceh. This study used a descriptive quantitative type with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique for this study used a purposive sampling technique with a sample of 157 patients. The data collection tool used was the Spiritual Needs Questionnaire (SpNQ) consisting of 19 questions modified by Lenni Sastra. The results of this study stated that patients need spiritual needs, from the most needed, namely religious needs (100%), especially ‘performing the five daily prayers’, the need for inner peace (98.7%), the need to give (93.6%), and the need for self-existence (87.3%). This study indicated that cancer patients at the Oncology Center of the Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital. Zainoel Abidin, a resident of Banda Aceh, were in dire need of spiritual support. Healthcare providers are recommended to assist patients in meeting their spiritual needs during hospitalization, thereby helping them navigate the treatment process with peace of mind.
