[skripsi. universitas syiah kuala]. dibawah bimbingan taat kurnita yeniningsih, s.pd., m.pd dan siti naila fauzia, s.pd., m.pd. penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh perkembangan kemampuan berpikir simbolik anak yang berlangsung dengan baik melalui penggunaan media loose parts dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. ditunjukkan di kelas a (usia 4-5 tahun) di tk it permata sunnah, kota banda aceh, anak sudah bisa membilang melalui melalui tutup botol, kancing, stik es krim, dan batu kecil, anak sudah bisa mengenal konsep bilangan pada kegiatan mengurutkan bilangan dengan potongan 4 kardus angka yang sudah diberi lebel, anak sudah bisa mengenal lambang bilangan pada kegiatan menggunakan stik es krim. peneliti bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan strategi guru mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir simbolik anak melalui penggunaan media loose parts. metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu 2 guru kelas. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat strategi yang dilakukan guru dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir simbolik anak melalui penggunaan media loose parts. strategi yang pertama guru memberikan pijakan (scaffolding), kedua menggunakan metode demonstrasi, ketiga penggunaan bahan loose parts dari alam maupun sintetis untuk mendorong imajinasi dan kemampuan simbolik anak. keempat, mengadakan penilaian dan evaluasi. temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa beberapa strategi guru yang dikembangkan efektif untuk pengembangan kemampuan berpikir simbolik anak usia dini. kata kunci : strategi guru, kemampuan berpikir simbolik, penggunaan media loose parts.



Abstract

ABSTRACT Salsabila Mesbach. (2025). Teacher Strategies for Developing Children's Symbolic Thinking Skills through Loose Parts Media at TK IT Permata Sunnah, Banda Aceh. [Thesis. Syiah Kuala University]. Under direction of Taat Kurnita Yeniningsih, S.Pd., M.Pd., and Siti Naila Fauzia, S.Pd., M.Pd. This study was motivated by the development of children's symbolic thinking skills, which progressed well through the use of loose parts media in learning activities. As demonstrated in Class A (aged 4-5 years) at TK IT Permata Sunnah, Banda Aceh, children were able to count using bottle caps, buttons, ice cream sticks, and small stones. They were also able to recognize the concept of numbers in an activity of sorting numbers using four cardboard number pieces that had been labeled, and they were able to recognize number symbols in an activity using ice cream sticks. The researcher aimed to identify and describe the strategies used by teachers to develop children's symbolic thinking skills through the use of loose parts media. The method used was qualitative descriptive research with data collection techniques through interviews and observation. The subjects in this study were two classroom teachers. The results showed that there were four strategies used by teachers to develop children's symbolic thinking skills through the use of loose parts media. The first strategy is that teachers provide scaffolding, the second is to use the demonstration method, the third is to use loose parts from nature and synthetic materials to encourage children's imagination and symbolic abilities, and the fourth is to conduct assessments and evaluations. These findings indicate that several of the strategies developed by teachers are effective for developing the symbolic thinking abilities of early childhood.
