Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji keterkaitan antara indian ocean dipole (iod), yang diukur melalui nilai dipole mode index (dmi), dengan parameter angin berupa magnitudo dan arah di perairan aceh selama periode 1948–2023. data iod diperoleh dari psl noaa, sedangkan data angin berasal dari dataset reanalisis era 5 copernicus. analisis dilakukan dengan pendekatan statistik deskriptif dan korelasi pearson guna melihat arah serta kekuatan hubungan linier antara variabel. hasil menunjukkan bahwa secara umum, korelasi antara iod dan angin cenderung lemah dan tidak selalu signifikan. meskipun demikian, terdapat periode dan titik koordinat tertentu, terutama pada fase iod positif dengan ambang batas yang lebih tinggi, yang memperlihatkan korelasi relatif lebih kuat. hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa pengaruh iod terhadap dinamika angin di wilayah studi tidak selalu konsisten dan turut dipengaruhi faktor oseanografis lain. penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi pijakan bagi penelitian lanjutan tentang interaksi antara variabilitas iklim global dan dinamika laut lokal di perairan aceh. kata kunci: iod, angin, korelasi, analisis, magnitudo.

Abstract
This study was conducted to examine the relationship between the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD), as measured by the Dipole Mode Index (DMI) value, with wind parameters in the form of magnitude and direction in Aceh waters during the period 1948-2023. IOD data was obtained from NOAA's PSL, while wind data came from Copernicus' ERA5 reanalysis dataset. The analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation to see the direction and strength of the linear relationship between variables. The results show that in general, the correlation between IOD and wind tends to be weak and not always significant. However, there are certain periods and coordinates, especially during positive IOD phases with higher thresholds, that show relatively stronger correlations. This indicates that the influence of IOD on wind dynamics in the study area is not always consistent and is also influenced by other oceanographic factors. This study is expected to be a foundation for further research on the interaction between global climate variability and local ocean dynamics in Aceh waters.
