[skripsi. universitas syiah kuala]. dibawah bimbingan dr. fajriani, s.pd., m. ed dan dara rosita, s.pd., m.ed. regulasi emosi merupakan kemampuan individu untuk memonitor, mengevaluasi, dan memodifikasi emosi agar dapat merespons situasi secara adaptif, termasuk dalam konteks pengambilan keputusan karier. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengidentifikasi gambaran regulasi emosi siswa, 2) mengidentifikasi gambaran pengambilan keputusan karier siswa, dan 3) mendeskripsikan hubungan antara regulasi emosi dengan pengambilan keputusan karier siswa kelas xi smk di banda aceh. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional. jumlah populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 695 siswa kelas xi smk. teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan stratified random sampling. subjek penelitian berjumlah 264 siswa yang berasal dari smkn 1 banda aceh, smkn 5 telkom banda aceh, dan smk smti banda aceh. instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah skala regulasi emosi dan skala pengambilan keputusan karier yang telah diuji validitasnya melalui validitas logis dan validitas empiris. uji reliabilitas menggunakan teknik alpha cronbach dengan koefisien reliabilitas regulasi emosi sebesar 0,852 dan pengambilan keputusan karier sebesar 0,912. analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis deskriptif persentase dan uji korelasi spearman’s rho menggunakan bantuan software spss. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa regulasi emosi siswa berada pada kategori tinggi (96%), dengan aspek memonitor emosi memperoleh skor rata-rata tertinggi. pengambilan keputusan karier siswa juga berada pada kategori tinggi (87%), dengan aspek informasi karier menjadi aspek yang paling dominan. hasil analisis korelasi spearman’s rho menunjukkan nilai koefisien korelasi (ρ) sebesar 0,459 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05), yang berarti terdapat hubungan positif dengan kekuatan sedang antara regulasi emosi dan pengambilan keputusan karier. temuan ini menegaskan bahwa semakin baik kemampuan siswa dalam mengatur emosi, semakin baik pula kemampuannya dalam mengambil keputusan karier. peran guru bimbingan dan konseling sangat diperlukan untuk mempertahankan dan meningkatkan capaian positif ini melalui program penguatan regulasi emosi yang terintegrasi dengan layanan bimbingan karier. kata kunci : regulasi emosi, pengambilan keputusan karier, siswa smk



Abstract

Aura Nabila Ningsih Manurung (2025). The Relationship Between Emotional Regulation and Career Decision-Making Among Grade XI Vocational High School Students in Banda Aceh . [Thesis. Universitas Syiah Kuala]. Under the supervision of Dr. Fajriani, S.Pd., M. Ed and Dara Rosita S.Pd., M.Ed. Emotional regulation is an individual's ability to monitor, evaluate, and modify emotions in order to respond adaptively to situations, including in the context of career decision-making. This study aims to: 1) Identify the profile of students' emotional regulation, 2) Identify the profile of students' career decision-making, and 3) Describe the relationship between emotional regulation and career decision-making among 11th-grade vocational high school students in Banda Aceh. This study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The population in this study consisted of 695 grade XI vocational high school students. The sampling technique used is stratified random sampling. The research subjects consisted of 264 students from SMKN 1 Banda Aceh, SMKN 5 Telkom Banda Aceh, and SMK SMTI Banda Aceh. The research instruments used were the emotion regulation scale and the career decision-making scale, which had been validated through logical validity and empirical validity. Reliability testing was conducted using Cronbach's Alpha technique, with a reliability coefficient of 0.852 for emotional regulation and 0.912 for career decision-making. Data analysis was performed using descriptive percentage analysis and Spearman's rho correlation test with the assistance of SPSS software. The results of the study indicate that students' emotional regulation is in the high category (96%), with the aspect of monitoring emotions receiving the highest average score. Students' career decision-making is also in the high category (87%), with career information being the most dominant aspect. The results of Spearman's rho correlation analysis show a correlation coefficient (ρ) of 0.459 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a moderate positive relationship between emotional regulation and career decision-making. This finding confirms that the better students are at regulating their emotions, the better they are at making career decisions. The role of guidance and counseling teachers is crucial in maintaining and enhancing these positive outcomes through integrated emotional regulation enhancement programs combined with career counseling services.
