Generasi z mulai memasuki dunia kerja, termasuk sebagai aparatur sipil negara (asn), dengan membawa karakteristik seperti orientasi pada makna pekerjaan, fleksibilitas, serta perhatian terhadap keseimbangan hidup. dalam praktiknya, sebagian dari generasi z menghadapi dinamika ketika ekspektasi terhadap pekerjaan berbeda dengan realitas yang dijalani, sehingga dapat memengaruhi tingkat work engagement, yaitu sejauh mana individu menunjukkan antusiasme, dedikasi, dan penyerapan dalam pekerjaan. salah satu faktor yang relevan dalam mendukung work engagement adalah workplace spirituality, yang menekankan pada keselarasan antara nilai pribadi, makna pekerjaan, dan rasa kebersamaan di lingkungan kerja. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan regresi linier sederhana pada 100 asn generasi z di banda aceh dengan instrumen utrecht work engagement scale-9 (uwes-9) dan workplace spirituality scale. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki tingkat workplace spirituality yang tinggi, sementara work engagement berada pada kategori rata-rata. analisis regresi mengungkapkan bahwa workplace spirituality berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap work engagement, dengan kontribusi sebesar 25,7% terhadap varians yang terjadi. temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya workplace spirituality dalam meningkatkan work engagement asn generasi z melalui keselarasan nilai, makna, dan komunitas, meskipun faktor lain juga turut berperan dalam mengoptimalkan work engagement.



Abstract

Generation Z has begun entering the workforce, including as Civil Servants (ASN) in Indonesia, bringing characteristics such as an orientation toward meaningful work, flexibility, and attention to work–life balance. In practice, some members of this generation experience dynamics when their expectations of work differ from the reality encountered, which may affect their level of work engagement, defined as the extent to which individuals demonstrate enthusiasm, dedication, and absorption in their work. One relevant factor in supporting work engagement is workplace spirituality, which emphasizes the alignment between personal values, the meaningfulness of work, and a sense of community in the workplace. This study employed a quantitative approach with simple linear regression on 100 Generation Z civil servants in Banda Aceh, using the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale-9 (UWES-9) and a workplace spirituality scale as instruments. The findings indicated that most respondents had a high level of workplace spirituality, while their work engagement was at an average level. Regression analysis revealed that workplace spirituality has a positive and significant influence on work engagement, contributing 25.7% to the variance observed. These results highlight the importance of workplace spirituality in enhancing the work engagement of Generation Z civil servants through value alignment, meaningful work, and community, although other factors also play a role in optimizing work engagement
