[skripsi. universitas syiah kuala]. dibawah bimbingan ramdiana s.sn., m.sn. dan samsuri s.pd., m.ed. siswa ekstrakurikuler teater di sma negeri 2 banda aceh mengalami kesulitan mengekspresikan emosi dalam pementasan monolog tangan kecil aini. kondisi ini menunjukkan perlunya penerapan teknik akting yang dapat membantu siswa membayangkan situasi batin tokoh secara mendalam. penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan proses penerapan teknik magic if dalam pementasan monolog tangan kecil aini oleh siswa ekstrakurikuler teater sma negeri 2 banda aceh. magic if merupakan teknik dari stanislavski yang menekankan imajinasi aktor untuk membayangkan seolah-olah dirinya mengalami situasi tokoh. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis studi kasus dengan subjek satu orang siswa. teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi partisipatif, wawancara semi terstruktur, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. teknik analisis data meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data serta penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi data. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik magic if membantu siswa memahami emosi tokoh secara lebih mendalam melalui pertanyaan reflektif. teknik ini juga mendorong eksplorasi ekspresi vokal, gestur, serta meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam berperan. kesimpulannya, magic if efektif dalam membantu eksplorasi emosional dan konsistensi akting dalam monolog. kata kunci :magic if, monolog, teater, ekstrakurikuler teater, stanislavski

Maulida Tuljannah (2025). The Application of the Magic If Technique in the Monologue Tangan Kecil Aini by Theater Extracurricular Students of SMA Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. [Syiah Kuala University Thesis]. Under the guidance of Ramdiana, S Sn., M.Sn. and Samsuri, S.Pd., M.Ed. Theater extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 2 Banda Aceh experience difficulties in expressing emotions during the performance of the monologue Tangan Kecil Aini.This condition indicates the need for an acting technique that helps students imagine the character's inner situation more deeply. This study aims to describe the process of applying the magic if technique in the performance of the monologue Tangan Kecil Aini by a student from the theater extracurricular group at SMA Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. Magic if is a technique from Stanislavski that emphasizes the actor's imagination to envision themselves as if experiencing the character's situation. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method and involves one student as the subject. Data collection techniques include participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and field notes. Data analysis techniques involve data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing and verifying conclusions. The results show that the magic if technique helps the student gain a deeper understanding of the character’s emotions through reflective questioning. This technique also encourages the exploration of vocal and gestural expressions and improves the student’s confidence in acting. It is concluded that magic if is effective in supporting emotional exploration and acting consistency in monologues. Keywords : Magic If, Monologue, Theater Extracurriculer, Stanislavski
