Konten lgbt merupakan bentuk media dan representasi mengenai identitas gender yang tergolong dalam kategori lesbian, gay, biseksual, dan transgender. di era digital, konten seperti ini banyak ditemukan di platform media sosial seperti tiktok, instagram, dan x (twitter). penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) untuk mengetahui platform mana yang paling dominan dalam menawarkan konten lgbt di media sosial (2) upaya mahasiswa fkip sosial humaniora universitas syiah kuala dalam menghindari konten lgbt di media sosial. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan dokumentasi. subjek penelitian berjumlah delapan mahasiswa terdiri dari program studi ppkn, ekonomi, sejarah, dan geografi. hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) tiktok menjadi platform yang paling dominan dalam upaya menghindari konten lgbt karena dianggap memiliki fitur dan algoritma yang paling responsif terhadap preferensi pengguna. (2) upaya untuk menghindari konten lgbt ialah skip konten, tidak menonton hingga selesai, refresh halaman, menekan opsi "tidak tertarik" atau "jangan tampilkan konten ini", hingga memblokir akun penyebar konten. kesimpulannya (1) tiktok sebagai platform media sosial yang paling efektif untuk menghindari konten lgbt. tiktok dinilai unggul karena menyediakan fitur “tidak tertarik”, pelaporan konten, dan algoritma yang responsif terhadap preferensi pengguna. (2) mahasiswa fkip usk menunjukkan upaya preservatif dalam menyaring konten media sosial sesuai dengan nilai yang dianut. saran untuk penelitian (1) penggunaan media sosial terkait konten lgbt disarankan agar platform lebih aktif dalam menyediakan fitur untuk menyaring konten (2) upaya berkelanjutan dari mahasiswa dalam meningkatkan literasi media dan kontrol digital secara efektif untuk menghindari konten lgbt di platform media sosial (3) peneliti selanjutnya disarankan untuk melibatkan lebih banyak responden dari berbagai latar belakang ilmu pengetahuan dan juga meneliti lebih banyak jenis platform media sosial. kata kunci : upaya, konten lgbt, media sosial

LGBT content is a form of media and representation of gender identity that is included in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender categories. In the digital era, this type of content is often found on social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and X (Twitter). This study aims to determine (1) To find out which platform is most dominant in avoiding LGBT content on social media (2) Efforts of FKIP Social Humanities students at Syiah Kuala University in avoiding LGBT content on social media. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews and documentation. The research subjects were eight students consisting of PPKn, Economics, History, and Geography study programs. The results of the study showed (1) TikTok is the most dominant platform in efforts to avoid LGBT content because it is considered to have the most responsive features and algorithms to user preferences (2) Efforts to avoid LGBT content are skipping content, not watching until the end, refreshing the page, pressing the "not interested" or "do not display this content" option, to blocking the account of the content distributor. The conclusion is (1) TikTok is the most effective social media platform for avoiding LGBT content. TikTok is considered superior because it provides a “not interested” feature, content reporting, and an algorithm that is responsive to user preferences (2) USK FKIP students demonstrate preservative efforts in filtering social media content according to their values. Suggestions for research (1) The use of social media related to LGBT content is recommended so that the Platform is more active in providing features to filter content (2) Continuous efforts by students in improving media literacy and digital control effectively to avoid LGBT content on social media platforms (3) Further researchers are advised to involve more respondents from various scientific backgrounds and also research more types of social media platforms.
