Kriopreservasi sperma ikan seringkali menyebabkan stres oksidatif yang dapat merusak struktur sel dan menurunkan kualitas sperma pasca pencairan. untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan jenis dan konsentrasi antioksidan yang paling efektif dalam mempertahankan kualitas sperma ikan naleh (barbonymus sp.) setelah kriopreservasi. penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (ral) dua tahap dengan lima perlakuan dan empat ulangan. tahap pertama menguji lima jenis antioksidan (asam askorbat, β-karoten, glutation, butylated hydroxytoluene dan myo-inositol) pada konsentrasi 10%, sedangkan tahap kedua menguji efektivitas konsentrasi (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20%) dari antioksidan terbaik. hasil menunjukkan bahwa jenis dan konsentrasi antioksidan berpengaruh nyata terhadap nilai motilitas, durasi motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas, dan fertilisasi (p



Abstract

Cryopreservation of fish sperm often induces oxidative stress, which can damage cell structures and reduce sperm quality after thawing. To address this issue, this study aimed to determine the most effective type and concentration of antioxidant in preserving the quality of Naleh fish (Barbonymus sp.) sperm post-cryopreservation. The study was conducted using a two-stage Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and four replications. The first stage tested five types of antioxidants (ascorbic acid, β-carotene, glutathione, butylated hydroxytoluene, and myo-inositol) at a 10% concentration, while the second stage evaluated the effectiveness of different concentrations (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%) of the best-performing antioxidant.
