Abstrak sosialisasi merupakan sebuah proses seumur hidup bagaimana seseorang mempelajari kebiasan-kebiasan yang meliputi cara hidup, nilai dan norma-norma sosial yang terdapat dalam masyarakat agar dapat diterima oleh masyarakat luas. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana yang terjadi pada anak tunarungu di slb negeri pembina aceh tamiang, dan bagaimana agen menjalankan proses sosialisasi anak tunarungu, serta hasil dari proses sosialisasi anak tunarungu di slb negeri pembina aceh tamiang. penelitian ini menggunakan teori perkembangan diri george herbert mead dengan menggunakan konsep generaized others dan significant others. penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. penelitian ini menemukan bahwa slb negeri pembina aceh tamiang melaksanakan proses sosialisasi melalui penerapan kurikulum yang sudah dimodifikasi sesuai dengan kemampuan anak, pemberlakuan aturan sekolah dan kelas, serta proses pembelajaran dikelas maupun diluar kelas. dalam proses ini, guru dan teman sebaya berperan sebagai significant others yang berperan dalam membentuk identitas individu, nilai dan sikap mereka. sedangkan kurikulum, pemberlakuan aturan sekolah dan proses belajar berperan sebagai generalized others yang mengarahkan perilaku siswa sesuai norma yang berlaku di masyarakat. pembelajaran yang diberikan sekolah tidak hanya pada aspek akademik saja tetapi juga pada aspek keterampilan sosial, komunikasi dan kemandirian siswa. keberhasilan sekolah dalam proses sosialisasi menunjukan bahwa anak tunarungu berhasil menunjukan bahwa dengan keterbatasan mereka, mereka dapat berprestasi dan membanggakan sekolah, tidak hanya itu mereka mampu menyesuaikan diri dengan siapa mereka berkomunikasi. kata kunci: sosialisasi, tunarungu, sekolah luar biasa, significant others, generalized others

ABSTRACT Socialization is a lifelong process of how a person learns habits that include ways of life, values and social norms that exist in society in order to be accepted by the wider community. This study aims to see wha happens to deaf childen a SLB Negeri Pembina Aceh Tamiang, and how agents carry ou the process of socialization of deaf children, as well as the results of the process of socialization of deaf children at SLB Negeri Pembina Aceh Tamiang. This study uses George Herbert Mead Theory of Self-Development using the concept of Generalized Others and Significant Others. This study uses a descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. This sudy found hat SLB Negeri Pembina Aceh Tamiang carries out the sociazation process trough the implementation of a modified curriculum according to the child’s abilities, the implementation of school and class rules, and the learning process in class and outside the classroom. In this process, teachers and peers act as significant others who play a role in shaping individual indentiy, values and attitudes. While the curriculum, he implementation of school rules and the learning [rocess act as generalized others who direct student behavior according o the norms that apply in society. The learning aprovided by the school is nor only on the academic aspect but also on the social skills, communication and independence of students. The success of the school in the socialization process shows that deaf children have succeeded in showing that with their limitations, they can achive and make the shool pround, not only that they are able to adapt to who they communicate with.
