Ketidaksesuaian model pembelajaran dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristrik siswa sering kali menjadi hambatan dalam memahami materi yang berdampak pada rendahnya motivasi belajar. kondisi ini menuntut penerapakan model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses belajar. salah satu model pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar adalah problem based learning. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap motivasi belajar fisika siswa sma negeri 2 banda aceh. populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas x sma negeri 2 banda aceh dengan mengambil sampel dua kelas melalui teknik purposive sampling. penelitian ini melibatkan dua kelas, dimana satu kelas diberikan pembelajaran menggunakan model problem based learning sebagai kelas eskperimen sedangkan kelas lainnya menggunakan pembelajaran model discovery learning sebagai kelas kontrol. pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui instrumen lembar validasi,lembar observasi,tes,dan angket motivasi. untuk melihat pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning pada kelas eksperimen terhadap motivasi belajar digunakan uji-t t yaitu welch’s t-test. hasil uji menunjukkan nilai t_hitung>t_tabel yaitu 8.608 > 2.000 maka h_0 ditolak dan h_a diterima. hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model problem based learning memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dibandingkan dengan model discovery learning yang digunakan pada kelas kontrol. kata kunci: model problem based learning, motivasi belajar fisika

Abstract
The incompatibility of learning model with the needs and characteristics of students often becomes an obstacle in understanding the material which has an impact on low learning motivation. This condition requires the implementation of a learning model that can increase student involvement in the learning process. One of the learning models that can increase learning motivation is problem based learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the problem based learning model on the motivation to learn physics of students at SMA Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. The population of this study was all students of class X of SMA Negeri 2 Banda Aceh by taking a sample of two classes through a purposive sampling technique. This study involved two classes, where one class was given learning using the problem based learning model as an experimental class while the other class used the discovery learning model as a control class. Data collection was carried out through validation sheet instruments, observation sheets, tests, and motivation questionnaires. To see the effect of the Problem Based Learning learning model in the experimental class on learning motivation, the t-test was used, namely Welch's t-test. The test results showed that the t_value>t_table was 8.608> 2.000, so H_0 was rejected and H_a was accepted. This shows that the application of the problem based learning model has a significant influence on students' learning motivation compared to the discovery learning model used in the control class.
