Abstract

The Aceh Trade Center is designed as a modern commercial hub that supports the activities of MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) in Banda Aceh. The primary issue addressed is the absence of an integrated facility that represents local potential in a modern and competitive manner. This study aims to design a trade center using a contemporary architectural approach that is responsive to the local context. The methodology adopts a qualitative-descriptive approach through site analysis, comparative studies, and thematic design concepts. The design outcome features a functional building complex that integrates traditional Acehnese architectural elements, efficient circulation, and strategies for tropical climate adaptation. The Aceh Trade Center is expected to serve as an urban landmark that strengthens the city’s economy and cultural identity. Keywords: Aceh Trade Center, Banda Aceh, Contemporary Architecture, MICE, UMKM
