Performa protokol transmission control protocol (tcp) memegang peranan penting dalam menentukan kualitas layanan jaringan telekomunikasi. penelitian ini menganalisis dan membandingkan dua algoritma tcp, yaitu tcp newreno dan tcp cubic, menggunakan simulator network simulator 3 (ns-3) pada topologi jaringan wired empat node dengan konfigurasi point-to-point. pengujian dilakukan terhadap lima parameter utama, yaitu throughput, delay, packet loss, queue size, dan congestion window, dengan pencatatan data melalui metode tracing. hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa tcp cubic memiliki performa throughput rata-rata, yaitu sebesar 6.02 bps, dibandingkan tcp newreno. sementara itu, berdasarkan hasil pengujian terhadap jaringan provider, im3 menunjukkan performa terbaik dengan throughput rata-rata mencapai 5.29 bps, mengungguli xl dan telkomsel. temuan ini memperlihatkan karakteristik perbedaan performa algoritma tcp dan jaringan provider dalam kondisi jaringan yang berbeda. kata kunci: tcp cubic, tcp newreno, ns-3, congestion, quality of service network, throughput.



Abstract

The performance of the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) plays a critical role in determining the quality of service in telecommunication networks. This study analyzes and compares two TCP algorithms, namely TCP NewReno and TCP Cubic, using the Network Simulator 3 (NS-3) within a wired network topology consisting of four nodes connected via Point-to-Point links. The evaluation focuses on five key parameters: throughput, delay, packet loss, queue size, and congestion window, with data collected through tracing methods. Simulation results indicate that TCP Cubic achieved average throughput performance at 6.02 Mbps, outperforming TCP NewReno. In terms of network providers, IM3 delivered the best overall performance with an average throughput of 5.29 Mbps, surpassing both XL and Telkomsel. These findings highlight the distinctive performance characteristics of each TCP algorithm and network provider under varying network conditions.
