Estetik merupakan salah satu hal yang penting bagi masyarakat, dan merupakan salah satu alasan seseorang datang ke dokter gigi. orofacal esthetic scale merupakan instrumen yang mencakup delapan komponen yang berguna untuk menilai sudut pandang pasien mengenai estetika wajah dan gigi pasien, dan dapat digunakan pada populasi umum. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi estetik pada mahasiswa semester ii dan semester vi di fakultas kedokteran gigi universitas syiah kuala. penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif observasional dengan menggunakan desain cross-sectional, dilakukan 149 mahasiswa, 78 mahasiswa semester ii (52,3%), dan 71 mahasiswa semester vi (47,7%) menggunakan kuesioner orofacial aesthetic scale. hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa presentase persepsi estetika mahasiswa semester ii adalah 53,33% dan presentase persepsi estetika mahasiswa semester vi adalah 46,67%. kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa semester ii lebih positif daripada persepsi mahasiswa semester vi.

Aesthetics is important to people, and is one of the reasons people come to the dentist. Orofacal Esthetic Scale is an instrument that includes eight components that are useful for assessing the patient's point of view regarding the aesthetics of the patient's face and teeth, and can be used in the general population. This study aims to determine the aesthetic perception of II semester and VI semester students at the Faculty of Dentistry, Syiah Kuala University. This study is an observational descriptive study using a cross-sectional design, conducted 149 students, 78 II semester students (52.3%), and 71 VI semester students (47.7%) using the Orofacial Aesthetic Scale questionnaire. The results of this study showed that the percentage of aesthetic perception of II semester students was 53.33% and the percentage of aesthetic perception of VI semester students was 46.67%. The conclusion of this study shows that the perception of II semester students is more positive than the perception of VI semester students.
