Nindya nasrizal (2025). sintesis dan karakterisasi komposit zno sebagai uv-blocker. paparan radiasi ultraviolet (uv) dari sinar matahari dapat menyebabkan berbagai efek merugikan pada kulit, seperti penuaan dini dan kanker kulit. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mensistesis dan mengkarakterisasi komposit zno sebagai bahan aktif uv-blocker dengan penambahan kitosan dan aloe vera. formulasi krim tabir surya yang dihasilkan kemudian diuji sifat fisiknya meliputi viskositas, ph, daya sebar, daya lekat, daya kering, dan tipe emulsi. efektivitas proteksi uv diuji melalui pengukuran spf dengan metode spektrofotometri uv-vis. formulasi tabir surya kemudian dikarakterisasi menggunakan ftir, xrd dan sem, dan diuji ketahanan tabir surya komposit. hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan formulasi krim tabir surya komposit zno-kitosan-aloe vera memiliki nilai viskositas sebesar 2580,9, ph 7, daya sebar 3,8 cm, daya lekat selama 24 detik, daya kering pada kaca selama 1091 detik dan pada tangan selama 202 detik dan tipe emulsi minyak dalam air. hasil uji spf menunjukkan bahwa formulasi tabir surya komposit memiliki nilai spf kategori optimum dan mampu memblokir sinar uv pada panjang gelombang 280-325 nm walaupun berada lebih rendah daripada tabir surya komersil. uji ftir menunjukkan bahwa formulasi memiliki struktur yang stabil, grafik xrd menunjukkan bahwa material formulasi memiliki struktur kristalin yang stabil dan ukuran partikel yang ideal, uji sem menunjukkan detail lebih dalam interaksi antara zno, kitosan, dan aloe vera. kata kunci: zno, kitosan, aloe vera, uv-blocker



Abstract

Nindya Nasrizal (2025). Synthesis and Characterization of ZnO Composite as a UV-Blocker. Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight can cause various adverse effects on the skin, such as premature aging and skin cancer. This study aims to synthesize and characterize ZnO composites as active UV-Blocker materials by incorporating chitosan and Aloe vera. The resulting sunscreen cream formulation was tested for its physical properties, including viscosity, pH, spreadability, adhesiveness, drying time, and emulsion type. The UV protection effectiveness was evaluated by measuring the SPF using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Furthermore, the sunscreen formulation was characterized using FTIR, XRD, and SEM, and its durability was assessed. The results showed that the ZnO-chitosan-Aloe vera composite sunscreen cream formulation had a viscosity of 2580.9 cP, a pH of 7, a spreadability of 3.8 cm, an adhesiveness of 24 seconds, a drying time on glass of 1091 seconds, and on the skin of 202 seconds, with an oil-in-water emulsion type. SPF testing revealed that the composite sunscreen formulation had an optimal SPF value and was capable of blocking UV rays in the 280-325 nm wavelength range, although it was slightly less effective than commercial sunscreens. FTIR analysis indicated that the formulation had a stable structure, XRD analysis showed stable crystalline structures and ideal particle size, while SEM analysis provided detailed insights into the interactions between ZnO, chitosan, and Aloe vera.
